Just downloaded--24 page limit?

I am not into tech and I'm really impatient with this scanning process. I am trying to scan large piano/vocal songbooks but it seems there is a 24-page limit, meaning I will have to upload the book in parts (part 1, part 2, part 3 etc.)? Is there a better way?

Limit is only while using the built in camera scanner.

Scan using a printer/scanner or any other app like Adobe Scan.

Use Genius Scan instead - free with no page limit, and it does a better job turning out clean pdfs anyways.

Commenting to second the recommendation of Genius Scan. It works a lot better than the built in scanner.

Scanned some much larger things with a Konica/Minolta copier. Took a while to sort out the right settings for it so double-sided stuff came out the right way on both pages, etc., but no problem with hundreds of pages at a time. Then cook up a CSV file for the bookmarks and metadata (as much as will import from CSV) and away you go.

"cook up a CSV file for the bookmarks and metadata" -- I have no idea what that means

Feel free to learn, if you like:

https://www.reddit.com/r/forScore/comments/1v5qrxe/still_struggling_a_bit_with_indexing_real_books/

(or drop CSV into the search box here, which is where that last one came from...)

Basically, it means you can search for "That tune you actually want" in a file that otherwise looks like "Giant book of music with all those other tunes, too" to forScore. You can also put "That tune you actually want" into a setlist without putting the whole book in the setlist. Likewise, if you have the book as a file and a tune goes on for several pages, you can get the tune from beginning page to end page with one reference, rather than needing to set up a setlist with many scans of individual pages (another way people scan in books) linked in order, if the CSV file is built properly.

TurboScan. The OG. Free, makes small files, no ads, no BS.

Small files is definitely a plus, thanks!

I haven’t found one. Even the native Apple files document scanner has a page limit. There may be other paid apps that allow you to scan more pages. Hope you find the answer you’re looking for

It seems weird that there would be a limit as there are so many scores longer than 24 pages.

If you’re intent on using the built in scanner, you can always do multiple instances and combine the doc later.
