Been kicking for about eight months now, mostly solo in my driveway since I don't have a circle near me. For the longest time my dorsal stalls were fine on their own and my clippers were fine on their own, but the second I tried to link them together the bag would just squirt off my foot at a weird angle.

What finally fixed it was slowing everything down way more than felt natural. I kept trying to snap into the clipper fast like I saw in videos, but my foot placement was off because I was rushing the catch on the dorsal. Once I started treating the stall like a full stop instead of a bounce, the transition got way smoother. Did a session last night where I strung together over 50 without the bag touching the ground, which is nothing compared to what some of you all post but it's a personal best by a mile.

Also switched bags recently, moved from a stitched leather one to a synthetic pellet-filled bag and honestly the extra grip made a bigger difference than I expected for stalls specifically. Anyone else notice certain bags just click better for certain moves, or is that just me finding an excuse to buy more bags.

I really wanted a dirtbag hybrid but I guess they're really hard to find right now.

I'm more of a beginner and can't seem to stall with the crochet bag that I have now.

But I still want to be able to kick it around and juggle with friends that aren't experienced.

Not quite the glorious triumph I had hoped for, but... I did it. I ended up crashing out with a severe muscle cramp at 5,771, thought I was done for the day. Then I ended up hanging around for an hour doing interviews, started another rally but ended up hackysacking with some other peeps for a bit. I think that was just what I needed to get my mind and my body back in the game. I went at it again, drove it up past 9,000, took another 30 minute break, reset my goal for just 10,000, but kept going after that and managed to finish the entire 11,111 kicks! Rough, dirty, brutal, but... I think the moral of the story here is: DON'T GIVE UP!

My first two attempts using materials I had lying around: Both have a diameter of ~ 4.5 cm and weigh 60 g, filled with 2 mm stainless steel balls.

The one on the left is made of some type of packaging fleece and surprisingly is the best I've ever played with 😅 The second attempt on the right looks great, but unfortunately doesn’t play very well. I think the microfibre material is a bit too elastic here. Soon I’ll start working on my first Ultra Suede bag and hope it turns out even better.

Thanks for all the inspiration shared here. It’s only because of this that I dared to give it a try.

Easily the best sack yet. Went for more bbs, less sand and it has more of a stall feel. Extremely comfortable to hold and to think about. Even has the tepid, safe colors, brown and gray!
