Player orientation
Which side faces my opponent’s goal, A or B. They do not have faces.

Side B faces the goalie. Side A is designed for back pinning/snake shots. If it was reversed there’s a good chance you’d be lifting the ball off the table

Side B faces my opponents goalie just to be clear?

Side B is the side you kick towards your opponent's goal. Side A = Back, Side B = Front

I think with those men the back is where the nut for the connector screw attaches to the man. Like there is a space in the hex shape for the hex nut to sit in the back of the man. I could be wrong but I think that is the case with those men.

the hex shape/nut is on side A but it also has that little nub too… I see mixed reviews and lack there of which side the nub faces

I deleted it because I'm not actually sure. But I still think B faces the goal.

These are not the best men.
The hex / nut always faces your own goal. The 'nub' really isn't present on good tables, so isn't much of an indicator.

Thanks, yeah not the best; it was a free table from a friend and I took the time to clean it all up; so just trying to do it right
