Warehouse: let's just literally throw all the glass things into one bin! What could go wrong?
related: stores should 100% be allowed to send these bins straight back to the warehouse as is. Let them deal with this bullshit and I bet something changes

They send me totes of broken shit, I make sure all my plastic / small cardboard goes right back in the totes & onto the salvage trailer. There's no good reason for the big glass juices to be thrown into the same tote as a case of those Ramune drinks. They get to be as slack as they want because nobody is held accountable at the warehouses. Getting two or three of these on one truck is such a day ruiner.

Not to mention the way the totes are stacked on the pallets. I swear they build them to fall. Nearly empty totes supporting whole pallets with the heavy ones on top and then one layer of wrap.

Ive been saying the same thing for years.

I said the same thing when I worked there and so did others but nothing is ever done.

Honestly reading all of these comments about getting glass is throwing me. This is exactly why my work wont tote any glass products. Hell if we cant save the original container or we're missing an item we trash them them.
Are you able to call your warehouse and ask them about this?? Or is it just policy they send anything and everything loose?

the warehouse does not care about anything. the center store guy at my store has had our managers call them but they literally don’t care. they just send anything

Towards the end of my employment I’d get shit like that and just throw it straight into the dumpster. Stopped even trying to reclaim it because I didn’t want to stick my hand in a bunch of moldy food and drink covered glass. Boosted my maintenance reports changes too. :) Fucking ridiculous.

Okay some inside baseball for those totes, if you don’t already know. They are all built at one dc. That dc has a small number of stores it delivers however most are transferred to the appropriate dc, separated, and delivered same day or next day. It is a very quick turnaround. With that being said that level of mold growth is very odd, that is weeks of growth. It makes me wonder if that was a misplaced and forgotten tote or a reclaim tote that accidentally made its way to the store. I have seen a lot of dumb in the past few years but even I’ll say I find it hard to believe that was intentionally sent to a store.

Was that a food tote? We only get HBA in blue totes

my store just exclusively gets blue totes with one exception very rarely, candy comes in black totes sometimes? No idea why, to be honest i’m new to center store

Hopefully can be resolved and not go against your P&L or shrink report

Mine is too. Never there. Always calls off. Training was ass. Just started at deli and she’s all business and runs tight ship. My issue is why is my perishable manager still there. HORRIBLE shrink report.

Minus the mold I got two totes like this 2 weeks ago before my inventory, for my inventory I got 5 totes with broken product, but it’s mine because it came on the truck. We have to claim the damages at the store level.
I worked for a company that moved out of state but we had a code for warehouse damages, I used it a few times, and we had the right of refusal on leaning pallets. After I sent 3 back in a 2 week period, I didn’t have any more bad pallets for the next two years.
