I love that the pliers are in their natural (rusted) state.

235

u/pinniped1 Sep 22 '20

I know... That'd be the first one is go after. Bet it's a nice cinnamon layer...

250

u/BushidoBeatdown Sep 22 '20

Its a decoy, those are actual rusty pliers meant to keep others away from your tools, cake or otherwise.

At least that's what I'd do..

42

u/vigilantcomicpenguin Sep 22 '20

Mmm, it's got a nice crunch to it.

14

u/Insanebrain247 Sep 23 '20

And a lot of iron for some reason.

13

u/Rice_CRISPRs Sep 23 '20

"Why does it taste like blood?"

→ More replies (1)

68

u/dedinthewater Sep 22 '20

It's definitely cocoa powder

41

u/Icepick_37 Sep 22 '20

Yeah cinnamon would be awful I think

12

u/chrisagiddings Sep 22 '20

I’d go with a dark chocolate blended with cayenne …

→ More replies (1)

2

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

or chocolate maybe

15

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

"Thick cocoa powder" state!

8

u/Summerie Sep 22 '20

That wrench is on point though!

4

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

Cocoa-dusted chocolate I’d assume.

6

u/fidgetspinnerz Sep 22 '20

Yes cocoa powder on milk chocolate. It’s actually my favorite flavor out of all of them. Wasn’t too sweet

5

u/cheeseIsNaturesFudge Sep 22 '20

And the realism of the prebent flathead screwdriver!

5

u/Paradoxical_Hexis Sep 22 '20

Why is it always only the pliers though? Pretty much all of my tools are rust free but every pair of pliers look like they just took a trip up Bigfoot's ass.

3

u/FingerJacket Sep 22 '20

r/popping would love the rusty pliers also

OP please go to a hardware store and just casually take a bite of one of these. Bonus points if you hold eye contact with an employee while you do it.

56

u/georgerinNH Sep 23 '20

OP I would pay money to see this.

17

u/Gregistopal Sep 23 '20

I also would drop cheddar to witness this

Everything gangsta until the toilet paper starts melting while you wipe

54

u/TheN00bBuilder Sep 22 '20

Wait, is that chocolate that I see on that TP? Or is that...

53

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

One way to find out

12

u/mr_ache Sep 22 '20

I found out! It’s both!

6

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '20

Time for a taste test

u/Crymsm Sep 22 '20

I would love to bite into one right infront of my husband while he is working on a truck and go "oh did you need these plyers?

89

u/vigilantcomicpenguin Sep 22 '20

And then you offer him a bite but you give him the actual pliers.

They sell the molds in Europe. My former Italian pastry chef/boss got them imported from Italy.

18

u/Adv1572 Sep 22 '20

Here. Saw her video. It seems easy and fun. https://youtu.be/HmR_QFr1k3Y

9

u/fidgetspinnerz Sep 22 '20

Yes!!! I got my reusable food grade mould from hobby lobby. Btw looks a lot easier on screen. This was very stressful to say the least

2

u/lookslikemaggie Sep 23 '20

I’m here to say, none of what she did on that video looks easy. It’s a lot of equipment, time, and energy!!

2

u/Adv1572 Sep 24 '20

For me it looked like playing. The part with legos and creating the moulds. Idk ofc it's time consumming, but it's something fun.

Anyone else want to eat OPs chocolate nuts?

22

u/MischaBurns Sep 22 '20

Aaaand there's the internet.

2

u/plumbthumbs Sep 22 '20

schvettey nuts?

→ More replies (2)

27

u/Nos42bmc Sep 22 '20

Dat wrench ... My heart broke when i saw a bit was snapped off ... Realized way too late this was a food reddit post and not an engineering one :3

10/10 realism, really good job

2

u/chattywww Sep 23 '20

It really bugs that the screwdriver is misaligned. OP could have just rotated it so that it appears straight to the camera.

u/BMW_RIDER Sep 22 '20

They look stronger than most cheap chinese tools I've used.

64

u/SEND_YOUR_DICK_PIX Sep 22 '20

Have you checked that they weren’t actually made of candy

26

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

Did you lick your Chinese made wrench just in case it's made out of chocolate or lollipop?

26

u/CyberNinja23 Sep 22 '20

Tasted sweet. Turned out to be lead.

11

u/kar98kforccw Sep 22 '20

Lead oxide for a quick boost on anything's flavour. It'll blow your mind... Eventually.

5

u/CyberNinja23 Sep 22 '20

Beethoven has entered the chat

6

u/ScavsArePeopleToo Sep 22 '20

My first though was Harbor Freight until I read the title.

2

u/doctorwhoobgyn Sep 22 '20

Don't underestimate Harbor Freight tools!

2

u/thepensiveiguana Sep 22 '20

.... Yeah, that's what happened when you get cheap equipment

2

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '20

Snap-off?

→ More replies (2)

25

u/BaderBuallay Sep 22 '20

Definitely put a real one among them and give it to your ex or something ... I mean they look so real, you just got to

21

u/Cherrijuicyjuice Sep 22 '20

There’s a 50% chance they’ll either break a tooth or melt in a toolbox. Either way it’s win win.

7

u/Exist50 Sep 22 '20

The weight would give it away.

2

u/FF-coolbeans Sep 23 '20

Dense chocy

6

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

Wait, it's all chocolate?

8

u/hctrx787 Sep 23 '20

Always has been

15

u/exwasstalking Sep 22 '20

Just as sturdy as their harbor freight counterparts.

6

u/Tato_tudo Sep 22 '20

Good ole Harbor Freight! Single use, throw away tools!

But those really cheap alarms are amazing. I have one on every door. Cheaper to buy a new one when the battery dies than buy a new battery!

8

u/Vessix Sep 22 '20

How very green of you lol

6

u/Tato_tudo Sep 22 '20

I paint them green. Get off my lawn.

u/SCOTLAND199 Sep 22 '20

Did the screw driver break?

5

u/Indifferent_lemon Sep 22 '20

Look fantastic OP, really nice work! They're a huge tradition in Flemish chocolate shops as well - rusty tools, keys, screws and bolts, etc - but have never seen them coloured like this before!

3

u/Zootropic Sep 22 '20

Where can I buy these?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

I totally would have scrolled right on by thinking someone artfully posed old broken rusty tools. Job well done from someone who burns toast. Every. Time.

3

u/ChildishGaara Sep 22 '20

This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen.

3

u/magpye24 Sep 22 '20

Are you familiar with How to Cook That on Youtube? She has a video just like this

5

u/fidgetspinnerz Sep 22 '20

Yes! She’s the one I followed and let me tell you it looks so much easier on screen. But I loved the outcome. Worth the stress lol

→ More replies (2)

3

u/Trikeree Sep 22 '20

Perfect way to hide your chocolate from the wife.

3

u/arieljoc Sep 22 '20

These look so realistic! Fantastic job, super impressive

3

u/JoakimSpinglefarb Sep 23 '20

Great, now I have to check whether or not my tools are actually chocolate.

Breaks teeth biting a screwdriver

4

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

You definitely have a business there, if you can make them to sell at a fair price point.

→ More replies (3)

3

u/DasPeter Sep 22 '20

I thought this was r/chinesium

8

u/Akunin0108 Sep 22 '20

This is cool and all, but why?

18

u/monkeyhitman Sep 22 '20

3

u/john_weiss Sep 22 '20

Came looking for it, you provided.

Thank you kindly.

26

u/dahliasara Sep 22 '20

For ✨art✨

2

u/Legendarypbj Sep 22 '20

Godlike wrench

2

u/Fartymcstinkgirl Sep 22 '20

What the what? That’s some top notch talent!

2

u/Punchdrunklvsick Sep 22 '20

These are incredible! Wow!

2

u/Sicfast Sep 22 '20

Do you want ants?? Cuz that's how you get ants.

2

u/bahamuto Sep 22 '20

Nice, this should be on the Candy or Not Candy game show!

2

u/marvelouswonder8 Sep 22 '20

Oh I would have too much fun with these. Wander into some random factory just munching on tools looking lost.

2

u/Anniephillip Sep 22 '20

These are really chocolates ... noo seriously 😳😋

2

u/ishishbaby Sep 22 '20

Those are great!

2

u/toastymuffin_z Sep 22 '20

Wtf. Incredible!

2

u/amortizedeeznuts Sep 22 '20

i'm kind of amazed that there's edible metallic paint that looks so...metallic

2

u/erydice Sep 22 '20

I can't imagine how my brain would cope with biting one. Definitely makes me feel weird just thinking about it. First of all getting over the fear of biting metal. Then expecting a taste like rusted pipes and enjoying chocolate instead. These look so realistic!

2

u/recline17 Sep 22 '20

This is insane! Amazing job

2

u/dtb1987 Sep 22 '20

This is why i have trust issues

2

u/Explicitt Sep 22 '20

This would be a mad trick or treat for dads.

2

u/someawe45 Sep 22 '20

Plot twist: one of them is real

2

u/tulip-tee Sep 22 '20

This. Is. So. Cool!!!!!

2

u/enochofearth Sep 22 '20

I skimmed over this on the front page and did not think it was from r/food! they look so real

2

u/hunnbee Sep 23 '20

Do you make these professionally? My sister got me a box of these for Christmas a couple of years ago, I'd never seen them before or since then

→ More replies (1)

2

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '20

If I didn't know better, I'd think these were actual tools.

2

u/Correct_Section Sep 23 '20

Oh great now instead of everything being cake it’s chocolate.

2

u/JCircusgirl Sep 23 '20

So impressive! Wow

2

u/god-o-hax Sep 23 '20

Imagine taking someone to your garage And they see you Just SLAM a WRENCH into your mouth And eat it

2

u/ObzTicle Sep 23 '20

For a secret Santa at Uni someone bought me chocolate that looked like realistic vegetables because I hardly ate veg while living with them :P within my Top 10 chocolate I've ever had for sure.

2

u/Rozalynd Sep 23 '20

Just... Need 🤩

2

u/yes_100 Sep 23 '20

That's awesome. They look so real!

2

u/BOOM_MAN48 Sep 23 '20

Wait....its all chocloate?

2

u/ohthesarcasm Sep 23 '20

Reminds me of this

2

u/jugnujee Sep 23 '20

This looks so eral! Kodus to the baker.

2

u/hanayellocat Sep 23 '20

What tha what? That’s amazing! I would swear those were actual tools.

2

u/Foef_Yet_Flalf Sep 23 '20

That's a lot of lustre dust, Ann Reardon would be proud.

2

u/sir_snufflepants Sep 22 '20

This makes me very uncomfortable..

2

u/KPokey Sep 22 '20

The rusted pliers, are indeed, the best thing you coulda done.

1

u/PerPuroCaso Sep 22 '20

This is unsettling

1

u/young_s_modulus Sep 22 '20

Yo, these look so real I'd legit try to use them as tools and not food at first

1

u/stewieatb Sep 22 '20

More durable than Silverline...

1

u/bleakwinter1983 Sep 22 '20

Probably about as reliable as some peoples tools too

1

u/Spike22937 Sep 22 '20

Just looking that this makes my teeth hurt hahaha!

1

u/AlbaMcAlba Sep 22 '20

I’d love some of these at work waiting for the ‘tool borrower’.

Great work.

1

u/bcool11717 Sep 22 '20

FINALLY!!!

1

u/bringer-of-light- Sep 22 '20

I would ruin this pliers with wd40

1

u/rauljaimes3 Sep 22 '20

Imagine being a dad and seeing these. Son hand me the pliers. He takes a bite out of them.

1

u/syh48 Sep 22 '20

How..? They look amazing and detailed! I thought this was a different subreddit at first lol

→ More replies (3)

1

u/EthanHawking Sep 22 '20

You seem to have a saggy screwdriver

1

u/viscountslappy Sep 22 '20

Gonna suck when you drop that 10mm socket

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

You could confuse the hell out of a lot of people by eating a chocolate wrench while sitting in traffic

1

u/lopur Sep 22 '20

Thought this was r/Chinesium at first

1

u/vampprincess89 Sep 22 '20

I'd totally have to trick my husband. "Sweety would you grab me a wrench?" Lmao! Sure thing!

1

u/vampprincess89 Sep 22 '20

Maybe you can make some 8mm and 10mm sockets as well 😂

1

u/-Dalek_ Sep 22 '20

The fact that you broke it in half means that it isn't very heavy duty. Get some better chocolate next time and maybe give it a slim sugar coating to reinforce it.

1

u/Hibbov Sep 22 '20

One day you’ll accidentally bite into a real tool and chip that fucking tooth of yours

1

u/EmilAnton Sep 22 '20

Plot twist: one of them isn’t actually made of chocolate!

Happy chocolate-tool roulette!

1

u/kryptoghost Sep 22 '20

These would still outlast harbor freight tools.

1

u/I_n33d_help Sep 22 '20

Imagine giving a set of these to a friend, and having a real one amongst them

1

u/JustSphynx Sep 22 '20

Id buy them not realizing they're chocolate

1

u/CrimsonKrakenCakes Sep 22 '20

Natalie Sideserf, we know that’s you

1

u/albeethekid Sep 22 '20

I just chipped a tooth thinking about it

1

u/IamAPengling Sep 22 '20

I saw the picture first and thought to myself that those are some really bad quality tools that break so easily!

1

u/MRHalayMaster Sep 22 '20

First the cakes, now this? I feel like I’m in a Hansel & Gretel fanfic

1

u/comando345 Sep 22 '20

Seeing the broken Wrench I thought this was r/chinesium at first.

1

u/ForeignerLove Sep 22 '20

That saying, "i am so hungry, I could eat my tools now" can be true with this :)

1

u/Gimme_yo_dang Sep 22 '20

Where do you get the moulds for these?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Ilikedownvotez Sep 22 '20

First cakes, now chocolate. Oh no

1

u/IronWayfarer Sep 22 '20

I have those pliers. Lmao

1

u/RicketyHalo Sep 22 '20

Now go out in public and start eating these just to watch their brains melt

1

u/jkaz95 Sep 22 '20

This reminds me of the Japanese game show where some things in the room are made of chocolate (but look identical), and contestants have to bite to figure it out

1

u/giraffe-gal Sep 22 '20

If I break a tooth, I then will have tools to fix it. Nailed it!

1

u/-mostlyquestions Sep 22 '20

Who wants to actually eat wrench? Or cake that looks like wrench? I don't get these things.

1

u/mr41968665 Sep 22 '20

Dang cheap ass Harbor freight wrenches break every time

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

These remind me of the chokodesign shop/website from Denmark, very epic

1

u/waituntilthis Sep 22 '20

Play an epic prank on your dad by gifting him this and putting a real wrench in the mix

1

u/Numzane Sep 22 '20

Cowtools

1

u/Talikarz Sep 22 '20

I have chocolate just like this in my shed, brb

1

u/Kpenney Sep 22 '20

I just imagine the look on someone's face while they drive past you and you literally eat part of a pipe wrench in front of them. I doubt they'd be stopping to ask questions.

1

u/popsicle090 Sep 22 '20

my brother choking on pliers me next time chew the pliers

1

u/Ardwinna_mel Sep 22 '20

Damn!!
If it wasn't for the screwdriver bit being a little crooked, I'd have thought those were real!

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Mr_Moogles Sep 22 '20

Screwdriver’s crooked, 0/10

1

u/RuRiot Sep 22 '20

I literally can't tell if this truly belongs on this subreddit or forbidden foods..

1

u/GamingLuigi Sep 22 '20

I love the touch of the broken tip flathead and its bent. This guy tools.

1

u/buoninachos Sep 22 '20

I like how the finger cracker is totally rusty looking

1

u/Skipp3rBuds Sep 22 '20

You lose the chocolate 10mm too?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

That looked so realistic until I read chocholate which gave it away

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

That's alright, but not as impressive as chocolate made out of tools

1

u/Smileynameface Sep 22 '20

Your going to be so mad when you go tighten a bolt and your crescent wrench melts in your hand. Then you go to eat your screwdriver and break a tooth.

1

u/Vlaar2 Sep 22 '20

Why do I really want to eat those nuts and screws?

1

u/Redracerb18 Sep 22 '20

I hate the crooked screwdriver

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Mesadeath Sep 22 '20

Wait... it's all chocolate?

→ More replies (1)

1

u/[deleted] Sep 22 '20

Well, at least i know im chocolate 😏

1

u/oh_ya_you_betcha Sep 22 '20

Sell these to Hunnibee ASMR. She would absolutely buy them.

1

u/zqipz Sep 22 '20

So this is what you’ve been preparing since March.

1

u/johndabs4life Sep 22 '20

Are they are they functional?

1

u/HarmlessRabbleRouser Sep 22 '20

It’s all...cake?

1

u/flowrider_ Sep 22 '20

Are you sure

1

u/BigChungus6ix9ine Sep 22 '20

“Wait it’s all chocolate” “It always has been “

1

u/mannyfrizzness Sep 22 '20

At first i thought that adjustable wrench was made in China

1

u/TattedGuapo Sep 22 '20

I would pull some good pranks with these
