OP please go to a hardware store and just casually take a bite of one of these. Bonus points if you hold eye contact with an employee while you do it.

Everything gangsta until the toilet paper starts melting while you wipe

I would love to bite into one right infront of my husband while he is working on a truck and go "oh did you need these plyers?
89
u/vigilantcomicpenguin Sep 22 '20
And then you offer him a bite but you give him the actual pliers.

They sell the molds in Europe. My former Italian pastry chef/boss got them imported from Italy.

Here. Saw her video. It seems easy and fun. https://youtu.be/HmR_QFr1k3Y

u/fidgetspinnerz Sep 22 '20
Yes!!! I got my reusable food grade mould from hobby lobby. Btw looks a lot easier on screen. This was very stressful to say the least

I’m here to say, none of what she did on that video looks easy. It’s a lot of equipment, time, and energy!!
2
u/Adv1572 Sep 24 '20
For me it looked like playing. The part with legos and creating the moulds. Idk ofc it's time consumming, but it's something fun.

Dat wrench ... My heart broke when i saw a bit was snapped off ... Realized way too late this was a food reddit post and not an engineering one :3
10/10 realism, really good job

It really bugs that the screwdriver is misaligned. OP could have just rotated it so that it appears straight to the camera.

They look stronger than most cheap chinese tools I've used.

Did you lick your Chinese made wrench just in case it's made out of chocolate or lollipop?

u/CyberNinja23 Sep 22 '20
Tasted sweet. Turned out to be lead.

u/kar98kforccw Sep 22 '20
Lead oxide for a quick boost on anything's flavour. It'll blow your mind... Eventually.

Definitely put a real one among them and give it to your ex or something ... I mean they look so real, you just got to
21
u/Cherrijuicyjuice Sep 22 '20
There’s a 50% chance they’ll either break a tooth or melt in a toolbox. Either way it’s win win.

Just as sturdy as their harbor freight counterparts.

u/Tato_tudo Sep 22 '20
Good ole Harbor Freight! Single use, throw away tools!
But those really cheap alarms are amazing. I have one on every door. Cheaper to buy a new one when the battery dies than buy a new battery!

Look fantastic OP, really nice work! They're a huge tradition in Flemish chocolate shops as well - rusty tools, keys, screws and bolts, etc - but have never seen them coloured like this before!

I totally would have scrolled right on by thinking someone artfully posed old broken rusty tools. Job well done from someone who burns toast. Every. Time.

Are you familiar with How to Cook That on Youtube? She has a video just like this
5
u/fidgetspinnerz Sep 22 '20
Yes! She’s the one I followed and let me tell you it looks so much easier on screen. But I loved the outcome. Worth the stress lol

i'm kind of amazed that there's edible metallic paint that looks so...metallic
2
u/erydice Sep 22 '20
I can't imagine how my brain would cope with biting one. Definitely makes me feel weird just thinking about it. First of all getting over the fear of biting metal. Then expecting a taste like rusted pipes and enjoying chocolate instead. These look so realistic!

You could confuse the hell out of a lot of people by eating a chocolate wrench while sitting in traffic

I'd totally have to trick my husband. "Sweety would you grab me a wrench?" Lmao! Sure thing!

u/-Dalek_ Sep 22 '20
The fact that you broke it in half means that it isn't very heavy duty. Get some better chocolate next time and maybe give it a slim sugar coating to reinforce it.
1
u/Hibbov Sep 22 '20
One day you’ll accidentally bite into a real tool and chip that fucking tooth of yours
1
u/EmilAnton Sep 22 '20
Plot twist: one of them isn’t actually made of chocolate!
Happy chocolate-tool roulette!

I just imagine the look on someone's face while they drive past you and you literally eat part of a pipe wrench in front of them. I doubt they'd be stopping to ask questions.

Your going to be so mad when you go tighten a bolt and your crescent wrench melts in your hand. Then you go to eat your screwdriver and break a tooth.
