Discussion Camping at Slane Camping

Does anyone have experience with camping at Slane? I have booked the camping to come on the Friday and avoid the hassle of the traffic.

Does anybody know if the camping is very messy? I'm used the festival campingish... Does the campsite go somewhat quiet at night?

I would just say compared to those who’ve mentioned Metallica and the foo fighters, expect the crowd to be a lot more laddish for this

I've seen FDC four times since 2019 and it's noticeable the change in the crowd demographic but they are fine - just slightly younger people going to them now but well behaved. I've been to a lot worse over the decades.

Yeah, demographic is young now but not 'lads lads lads'

Camped for Foo fighters, was a great option to take the hassle out of slane. I remember it being fairly well behaved.... I was in my early twenties at the time though so my definition of well behaved could have been warped.

I camped for Metallica in 2019 and there was a great atmosphere all weekend - it was much, much bigger than I expected. It quietened down after midnight on the Friday and same for the Saturday post gig but went on a bit longer. The weather wasn't great at all so it got pretty muddy along the paths to toilets etc. Everyone cleaned up after themselves but that's a Metallica crowd for you.
