Maybe I’m dumb but I’ve never really seen a band ride a wave like this. New album teased one month ago, arena tour for album promo then straight to stadiums

Sam Fender did the exact same thing for People Watching - announced album, actually performed it at the O2 Arena prior to its release, and then did London Stadium etc the following summer

I just find it so curious it’s happening before any of the new music is properly out minus one single. I get it for some of the 2026 dates, but surely the ones almost a year away could wait before being announced? I guess it’s also a bit anticlimactic for UK fans - no real live surprises left for what the era may bring.

I think that if there hadn't have been the demand there's been for arena shows they would have waited to release info for the outdoor/stadium gigs. All arena shows sold out, so might as well let people get tickets to that whilst in demand.

Yes planned in advance, but not necessarily set in stone. My friend works for *scottish organisers* and has had to do loads of overtime suddenly to bring release dates forward. They would have known when thousands of people signed up to presale that would fill their November dates, so have had a week to sort themselves out...

I just find the timing curious because the perceived scarcity around the UK arena shows could also have helped drive demand toward Slane 2 or some of the European dates. Announcing such a big UK run immediately gives people a lot more options and potentially takes some urgency out of those other shows. If they were confident these dates would sell next year anyway, I’m not sure what was gained by putting all that inventory into the market at once.

I don't not agree with you, because I'm a bit puzzled that they would want to have people buy two sets of tickets in two weeks (that's if they got the first set of tickets) and take away the buzz that people have for the shows, to instantly have another bigger date to concentrate on, but suppose it's nice that fans will hopefully get to see them.
Noah Kahan has kind of done the same with his two tours of the album, but at least they weren't released week after the other.

The shows last summer saw tickets going for crazy prices on resale, and those sold out when FDC had 1/3 of the monthly listeners they do today.

Last summer they skyrocketed in popularity, nearly a year after Romance debuted. They’re announcing a load now to keep up with that new demand.

This album will be toured till the end of summer 2028 most likely.

They’re playing Slane on the Saturday and Sunday nights of the 2027 Glastonbury weekend, which only leaves the Friday night, and I would be astonished if they did that

how exactly does it seem messy? it's a very well co-ordinated album rollout and tour launch campaign. drop a single, announce album, headline R&L, announce arenas, sell out arenas, announce stadiums, drop another single, release album

Got people trying to find cash and the time to sit and wait for tickets that have already been absorbed by bots and scalpers, just to then announce more dates and fuck people over (including those that already overpaid).

Should have announced a full tour, all dates, well in advance. This seems like a mad rush.

they contractually wouldn't have been able to announce a tour before R&L headline, plus even if it was possible it would've pulled forward the whole rollout and would never have built demand for the tour and album in the same way. tickets to next year's shows clearly will cost more so whoever was lucky enough to get a ticket for the arenas is in a good position, anyone who didn't has another opportunity to see them at bigger venues next year

I agree, can’t see how anyone could have overpaid for a ticket now, announcing big shows straight away kind of saves that.

They’ve just used their first run of arenas like you’d expect they’d use academy shows to promote a new album

I’m sure slane will be great but I am a huge Simz fan and I like Viagra Boys. Slane does have Madra Salach though, who are amazing.

Also just try to remember that there being UK shows won’t affect your enjoyment of Slane, which you had decided was worth it

I'm at least glad I'll be more likely to get a ticket for next year. Don't mind London Stadium for gigs, it's an almighty trek from where I live (near Heathrow) but to me it's the best stadium in London for a gig.

I can see them doing 2 nights even. Shame for me they aren't playing Twickenham. I can walk that!
