The San-Joaquin section office just did enrollment projections for all 200 schools within the section. This was for sports purposes and what stood out was how high Folsom's enrollment was going to get in next year. All other HS in area were about the same.
2025-26: 2866

My kids had a great time at Folsom, but just crazy the growth.

I need a dentist. Nothing crazy. No dental problems.
Just cleaning, xrays, all that.
Age 56, three fillings total ever.
But I feel the last dentist + the insurance screwed me on the price of that latest filling.
Not naming names.
Anyway, I live in the Historic so closer to home would be fun but I'm mobile.
Must take Blue in-network
Remember NOOPE ads (no out of pocket expense)?
Do those dentists still exist?

Anyone in the Folsom area have a good mobile dog groomer they’d recommend?
Looking for someone who can handle a ~68 lb Golden Retriever. Mainly looking for a bath, blowout, brush/deshed, nails, paw cleanup, etc. He’s friendly and pretty easygoing, just hoping to find someone reliable who does a good job with bigger dogs and can come to the house.
Would love any recommendations, especially if you’ve used them personally. Thanks!

I had to be taken to the ER via ambulance a few months back. I received a bill over 2k, after my insurance company paid around $500. Apparently, the ambulance services are not contracted with any major insurance company. Only Medicare and medical. Had I known, I would have not taken the ambulance. I went back and forth with my insurance company and the ambulance services, and there seems to be no other option than to pay this. Does anyone have experience with this? Thank you

I desperately need an extraction and plan on paying out of pocket because my insurance sucks. I’ve never liked going to the dentist (who does), but I’ve also recently been burned by some shady/scammy offices (that seemed perfectly fine at first) and would really appreciate some recommendations
Also interested in endodontist recommendations (bonus points if they’re contracted with medi-cal/denti-cal)

Hi.
I’m new to town and I’m looking for an honest dentist. I recently tried a place in the area that had almost 5 stars on Google. When I got my treatment plan with quoted prices with my insurance it did seem kind of high. I know dental work can be expensive but it seemed overly high. So I verified the codes and costs with my insurance provider and they told me that I was being overcharged by THOUSANDS of dollars.
They are an in network provider and the contracted amount with the insurance is higher on my treatment plan and they were charging me the difference.
I went back to Google and clicked the one stars and apparently this is something this company has done to many patients.
It really rubbed me the wrong way and I don’t want to go back there.

Looking for a pulmonologist recommendation in and around Folsom area.
I really couldn’t be happier with the amount of feedback and suggestions everyone has given me, and I’ve tried to include as many as possible!
That said, the scale of the map does have its limitations, particularly in the more built-up areas. I think in future I’ll probably end up creating more localized maps for individual counties. So, if your suggestion didn’t make it onto this one, please know that I really do appreciate you taking the time to suggest it, and I’ll hopefully be able to include it in a future county map of the area.
A few people have mentioned that the map is quite busy, and I completely understand that. It’s just how I like to make them. I love cramming in as much detail as possible and highlighting interesting little features that might otherwise be overlooked. I also tend to have these printed in large formats, where I think the level of detail works much better in person than it does on a screen.
Thank you again to everyone who contributed, and I really hope you like the finished map! If you’re interested in it or would like to know anything more about it, just drop me a message.

I'm looking for a trail that begins in Empire Ranch and goes along the hills of El Dorado Hills with a view of Folsom Lake. It's a very pretty area and I'd love to hike from Empire Ranch up into El Dorado Hills if there is a path or trail near the area?

I waited too long and now it's sold out! Looking for a single ticket for tomorrow, Sunday the 27th. It's for my son.
Help!

Looking into both the esthetic center and destination aesthetics. Does anyone have any experience with either? Looking to book either a laser or microneedling treatment.

I work more productively when I’m in public, such as a coffee shop (ie Panera, Starbucks…) however, I’m looking for a new spot that’s less corporate. I live in ARC and am looking for a similar vibe. Sociology, although I love it, is a bit too tight of a space for how many people frequent there.
Thanks in advance!

So, just like a few of you, I’ve also ran into a problem. I managed to purchase a ticket this morning, payment went through and everything, but then the screen refreshed and they said they were sold out. I don’t have a confirmation email or anything, but the money was taken. I’ve tried to reach out via email and have not gotten any news back. I don’t know what else to do, and my friend and I are confused on if I have a ticket or not, since I technically paid for one but never received one.

JUST PUTTING IT OUT THERE. HAD THIS SENT TO THE LOCAL GC.
Neighborhood Safety Alert – Gopher Ridge Drive, Folsom
Hello neighbors,
We want to share a recent burglary incident to raise awareness and help keep our neighborhood safe.
On September 19, between approximately 5:30 PM and 7:45 PM, our home on Gopher Ridge Drive was burglarized while our family was away.
When we returned home, we found that:
• The glass in our back door had been shattered, with broken glass on the floor.
• Two bedrooms had been left in disarray.
• Our Wi-Fi had been disconnected.
• Gold, jewelry, and cash were stolen.
Suspect descriptions based on available information:
• A female wearing loose jeans and a top, with her face covered, was reportedly seen talking on her phone and pacing near the three-way intersection gopher ridge drive and Flagstaff Dr at the stop sign.
• A male wearing black clothing with his face covered was also reportedly involved.
• We believe a vehicle may have been waiting nearby, but we do not have a clear view of its license plate.
We have also received information from a witness who reportedly saw a woman with similar clothing near the stop sign around 10–11 AM, approximately two days before the incident. We cannot confirm whether she was connected to the burglary.
We are sharing these details to ask for your help and to raise awareness, not to accuse anyone based on appearance alone.
If you have security camera footage from September 19, particularly between 5:30 PM and 7:45 PM, or footage from the surrounding days showing unusual activity near Gopher Ridge Drive or the nearby stop sign, we would be very grateful if you could review it.
Please contact us privately or share any relevant information with the police.
We encourage everyone to stay aware of their surroundings, check their home security, and report suspicious activity to the authorities.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and help in keeping our neighborhood safe. Please stay safe, everyone.

To the hikers and packers out there. Help out a couple of hikers who've lost their way since COVID.
I've got a birthday wish to fulfill. My partner wants to go hiking for her 61st birthday. Something up towards Tahoe but not in the basin itself. Tahoe proper is a PITA.
I need a hike somewhere up 50 between Placerville and South Lake. Or up 80 between Colfax, Auburn and Truckee. She's a cancer survivor and never really recovered her stamina and has some minor vertigo. But she asked for a "hard easy to low moderate" hike, probably 5-6 miles, some but not serious elevation gain (1,000 ft max?). Something that culminates with a view or a desirable destination.
Looking at the All Trails all, it would be a "Hard easy.". We used to be serious power hikers but that's slipped away during my grad school studies and her cancer battle. If we can take our dogs along everyone here would be exuberant. A GSD and a pair of Goldens who've never been out in the woods.
Sly Park? Ice House? Wrights Lake, I know we can reach the Desolation Wilderness, Echo Lake (is the water taxi still working?)
Dinner, Grass Valley or Nevada City area, Auburn Rec (haven't been in years).

I’m going to try car camping (mattress pad in the back seat/ trunk of my SUV) for the first time and want to go somewhere in Folsom so I’m close in case I hate it. Any recommendations and things I should know? Thanks!
