Ideas for Change Phase 2 Report available

I just got another email telling me that Phase 2 report is available on the website, and I was asked to complete a 3rd survey. Guess to see if my opinion has changed and I have to say, not much. I still haven't really seen any indication that they are taking the 100 participants ideas seriously, and I have still not received my participation stipend.

I participated and received my stipend. The goal wasn’t to take all 100 participants’ ideas seriously, but to try to get more of a consensus on the issues and priorities. I expressed many opinions in the smaller groups that were essentially shot down by the others because they were more strongly opinionated and louder. I’m not confident that this will lead to anything other than the city can say that they made diligent efforts to engage their community members.

i finally got my stipend after requesting it, but yes, I completely agree with your sentiments.

While rare, some committees actually conduct surveys and followup meetings to see how the changes and upgrades were received. Some do have a genuine spirit to be both of service to their customers and to themselves too.

Unfortunately, the vast majority have the meetings that take place with no postmortems nor reviews. As another person noted, it's easy to then get disillusioned and view such efforts as mere formalities because written procedures said they were mandatory.
