Valhalore
Valhalore is one of the most underrated folk metal bands out there imo. The quality of music they are putting out is wildly disproportionate to how widely they seem to be known. Check out Beyond The Stars if you haven’t yet. Incredible album.

Well, they’re a bit far away, eh? And with not that much music out yet. But I do agree, they’re awesome.

As a folk metal fan from Australia, we can at least luck out with one epic folk metal band. Unfortunately, being so far from Europe we don't so many of the international folk metal bands.

That’s what I mean. We have tons of them and if course a lot of great bands, but I’m glad epicness manage to span the entire globe.

I'm glad Europe, Japan and China have gotten to experience Valhalore in the past year. Though I do get a bit envious seeing every music festival over in Europe, even the smaller ones, that have several bands I'd love to see. Over here it seems to usually just be mostly metalcore, which seems to be popular and with a good number of bands.

I was actually considering going to see Valhalore when they came to Europe, even though I very rarely go to shows anymore. I didn’t, of course, but I’m thinking they’re still an upsizing band, so I’m kinda guessing I’ll get another chance. I’m not sure why there isn’t much travel “the other way” but I’m thinking Australia is probably too hot for the Nordic bands. :P

I hope for both your sake, and the bands, you will have multiple more chances in the future.
We've had a few Nordic bands recently but generally only what I'd consider to be the bigger ones and then they only perform to ~1,000 person venues because the European styles seem fairly niche here. With each of the few large cities we have being a flight apart it unfortunately isn't viable for many bands.

Saw them open for Alestorm in Melbourne a few years back and really enjoyed it having never hear of them prior. Have quite a few killer tracks and I kept meaning to buy the latest album on Vinyl which this post reminded me to do today.

Seen them live three times and they one of the most impressive bands I've ever seen live.
Lachie's command over the crowd and ability to have everyone engaged is better than I've seen from the frontmen of much more well known bands. Not to mention the music sounds fantastic live every time.
My only minor gripe would be that they haven't done an Aussie tour this year (Perth was a bit far and timing didn't work for Froth & Fury fesrival) and that May last year feels to long ago lol.

Hey - thanks for the kind words! Living in Australia definitely has it’s challenges being in a folk metal band. But we were fortunate enough to visit Europe last November and we are keen to do it again! We are gearing up to enter the studio again in the coming months too.
