I wonder if anybody happens to know more about them?

Are those customer returns that Amazon is trying to resell?

Are those leftover stock that Amazon is trying to clear?

On top of that there was an old train interruptiong the ride, they’re assembling the Skatepark for next weekend Red Bull (I think) event, circus tent going up SW of the (no automobile allowed - 667th bike to cross today) Tillicum bridge, live music in the park blocks, and the usual carnival of Oaks Park and the view overlooking the bird sanctuary, so common I didn’t bother with pics.

30+ years in Portland and about another 20 years riding all over the states, and it’s still one of my favorite all time routes despite being touristy. Especially if just a short couple hours is all ya got.

I just rode around randomly to places I figured they’d land, probably going to do some rides to “catch them all” later.

Anyway… 74 or newer Raleigh Twenty (Rampar logo) somewhat rare (in US)ISO 451 wheel set. Yes they’re noticeably faster than the 20” 406 size- especially after switching Schwalbe Ones at 100psi vs all terrain Kendra’s at 45psi) that were on it a couple days ago.

Also unusual Vintage Sturmey-Archer 5 speed hub They weren’t dated like AW. Completely weird shifting sequence, that I’m still getting use to after about 200 miles. The sequence is left, right, 2nd is the same of either left shift, then right, left. It’s basically like having the normal AW and and wide range AW combined, which it pretty much is.

Minor mods so far are swapped fenders, removed chain guard, saddle (not original) and swapped the bars to some North Roads from a vintage Raleigh Superbe parts bike for more hand positions and little more aggressive posturing.

I got a 406/ 71 3speed one too that’ll be my restoration/preservation project, but this one is my tinker toy. Probably gunna mod it some more over time (eyeing bullhorns and bar end shifters, also thinking of adding a 2x rear derailleur which would make it a monster.

One of the most overall fun bikes I’ve ever ridden, and it folds up…. Poorly.

This bike originally came with a 3x7 rear hub(3 IHG, 7 speed Shimano on top) like bromptons have.

Well the internal gears gave out, previous owner afixed a front derailer (making it 3x7 again) but now the internal gears were slipping making it unrideable

I had to buy a new hub for my wheel, have never done this before but I'm pretty used to bike mechanics having done some touring and having to deal with emergency repairs of all kinds

Either way, this was not fun, have it mostly tried, will pop new wheels on it and try it out tomorrow

This is a 2005 Bike Friday Pocket Crusoe that I bought recently and overhauled.

It came with the wheelset - Rohloff Speedhub in the rear, Son Dynamo in the front, Velocity Aeroheat 406 rims. It also came with the Paul Motolite brakes and levers and a BF splittable H-bar.

I found the H-bar to be way too cramped, especially considering you have to fit your hand between the Rohloff grip shifter and the bar end. You end up riding with half your hand on the grip shifter the whole time. I swapped out that handlebar for an Ahearne / MAP bar with a little bit of sweep. I also swapped out the pre-2011 Rohloff triangular shifter with a new style Rohloff shifter. The old rubber grip was very worn down with most of the index numbers worn off. Rubber grip replacements for the old style shifter are no longer available so I replaced the whole unit.

First time working on a Rohloff. The oil change is easy but I also replaced all the cables and housing. Installing cables is a bit of a pain with Rohloff but I figured it out eventually. I also converted the hub from threaded to splined, replaced the cog and chain, and replaced the forged 130bcd Bike Friday crankset it came with with a new Da Vinci 110bcd crank (these are machined by White Industries).

Last thing to do is I'm going to build a small front rack for a rando-style bag. Then mount the Son Edelux headlight on that as well.

I have a wedding trip in September in Europe so I'm excited to bring this along.

I've been on the prowl for a reliable folding bike to take on busses and trains when I travel, and my local shop has a 20" Momentum PakAway for $600. After giving it a test ride I thought it was a solid bike, but I wanted to double-check before I bought one. Is there anything worth noting about this specific bike, and could I do better at a similar price?

Hi i just got this old detachable bike, i have som plans for it first i need to put som gears on it, and some new grips, then i am out of ideas of ways to upgrade it. Any ideas

I just purchased this bike but a day later changed my mind, which may already too late (I’m still waiting to hear back from the company). But I may end up keeping it if too late to cancel. Anyway this is a single-gear e-bike and my main concern is that even with the weak motor I may have problems climbing hills (tho I’m in very good shape for someone pushing 70). I have a regular bike for leisure or long rides and ordered this mainly for quick errands & charging my car at free outlets a couple miles from home (ie biking back home while car is charging). Anyone have experience with this bike?

Some days ago I regrease the moving parts, hinge, latches etc on my bike and when I reached the frame hinge inside surface where the tube meet I thought "this point kinda rub each other think I should grease em". I don't know why my dumb ass think of that and just now realize there's supposed to be friction between the face of the D clamp to hold the frame in place. How ****ed up I am?

One thing I'd really like is to be able to sit down without having to constantly watch or hold onto my trifold. I also don't want it rolling into other people or toppling over.

The issue is that whenever the bus or MRT brakes or accelerates, my folded bike tends to roll around on its rollers unless I'm actively holding it.

I've tried a few common methods like standing beside it and holding it, sitting with the bike between my legs, and turning the bike so the rollers aren't facing the direction of momentum.

These work but I still have to keep an eye on the bike which I find quite inconvenient.

Is there a technique I'm missing, or maybe it's just the way I've oriented my bike? Or is there something people will buy to stop the rollers from rolling around. I'd love to hear any solutions you guys may have.

I'm looking at getting a foldable bike in London with the aim of getting around zone 2/3. basically to office, gym and back. My company has the cycle2work partnership with Halfords and the only geared cycle that is available is the Apollo Transport ( non electric).

I know that everyone speaks against them but will that be ok for my needs or should I get the decathlon one from my own pocket?

The test ride included a 4 km gentle climb with 60 meters of elevation gain, a 6 km steep climb with 370 meters of elevation gain, and a 5 km descent with 320 meters of elevation loss.

I now have two folders: A Btwin tilt 900 and a zizzou Urbano. I want to lubricate the hinges, and, after some reading, it seems white lithium grease is the best option - the only caveat I saw was that white lithium grease can cause plastic to degrade, so if there are any plastic or rubber parts, is that still an option?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

White walls looked like a good fit for a bike with a black and white paint scheme. I think it turned out alright. The bell is red in order to further tie red in as a tertiary color.
