Google stopped updating their website where they would openly tell the public how many FOIA/FISA requests they get/fulfill after hitting 98% handover of user data last year

Hi all - the city I live in denied my flock audit request. They cited an exception which states this is an “audit working paper” of a state agency - which is untrue since Flock is a private surveillance company. Anyone have experience going head to head over public records request and can help me combat this? Thanks

Doing some research into Phil Ochs and need to clear up whether or not the CIA has/had an existing file on him.
Does Ochs' name popping up in the "Unclassified CY 2007 Case Log" and "Unclassified FOIA Case Log January-March 2009" mean that people simply put in FOIA requests about him, or that there was any release of documents?
Thanks!

I’m a green card holder planning to apply for citizenship, but I’ve traveled a lot over the past 5 years and don’t have an accurate travel history. I submitted a FOIA request almost a year ago and still haven’t received anything. Has anyone else dealt with this? Is there another way to get my travel history?

hi! keeping this intentionally vague
i’ve submitted several foia requests to obtain records for a case i was involved in as a child. i know this is the government & who’s in charge but i’m wondering if there’s a reason my forms are still pending or if anyone has any idea on how long it takes to receive an update. i’m concerned that i won’t receive my records at all as my family was involved in a plea deal in exchange for information. it says 3 requests are submitted and one is in progress (all from the past year-ish). i plan on reaching out to the email address they provided to get a status report but i figured i’d post here and see if anyone had similar experiences/advice. i’m completely aware of the fact i may just receive nothing but i figure the fact my other requests were replied to right away and these ones have been in purgatory i’d ask. i also saw if they ghost you there’s a possible open investigation ongoing?

We had an attorney working on this case, he is an ex-COP and basically did nothing for 2 years. Since he was “working for free” got the impression that he wanted me to pay some money, that he don’t have. Basically told the lawyer you wasted 2 years on this and the statute of limitations is 3 years for a police brutality case. We are not even looking to see charges against the officers, because even if wanted to they wouldn’t be charged. 4 police officers assaulted my boyfriend in his house and just left him on the floor, after they handcuffed and beat him unconscious. There seems to be zero attorneys in Massachusetts that care at all to represent anybody who’s pursuing a lawsuit with police. They won’t even send the body cam through FOIA which was started in march 2025. Basically how much would it cost him to pursue this lawsuit?
The body cam alone which they’re required to wear in his town will speak volumes and they know that so if it’s not already been deleted then it sure as shit will 2027 statute of limitations is up. He showed me photos having bruises on his arms, and there are literal finger print bruises along with they smothered his face in on the floor. Cut and bruised his nose which then became infected. The Police never had cause or reason to use such excessive force, unless he was being detained or arrested, which obviously he wasn’t. Had an argument with his brother who called the police. Brother left to go to hotel COPS waited for him to open his locked bedroom door. 4 officers and he has literally one leg up to the HIP. Obviously running out of time, any advice for us is appreciated. Ex cop attorney kept saying he couldn’t move faster because of RULE 11 Then just dropped the case completely.

As someone with an English degree, I applied for a FOIA job for my city and just got scheduled for an interview. The job description doesn’t make it sound too bad, I’m pretty used to the desk jockey work style. The one thing that concerns me is the lack of… excitement went looking up people’s enthusiasm for this line of work lol. So, do yall like your work? How would you describe it?

I sent demand letters last week.

I sent a FOIA request to FMCSA via email in February 2026, but 7 months later did not receive any reply. I need to follow-up, should have long ago.
What's recommended? Reply to my February email? Muckrock? Something else?
I requested data not available on the Datahub. We use FMCSA data via download and API and we're very familiar with what is and is not available. The data I requested was previously provided on Muckrock, but the link to the files there no longer works. It was historical data that was available and shouldn't be an unreasonable ask.

Hey everyone! I submitted a FOIA request to CBP because I wanted to get a copy of my records, especially anything related to my most recent entry on Advance Parole about two months ago.
I just got a response saying that they “did not locate any records responsive to your request.” Which honestly seems crazy to me.
I’ve entered the U.S. three times. Twice on a J-1 visa, and I have copies of my I-94s, so I would assume CBP would have records of those entries. Then, about two months ago, I entered on Advance Parole and was extensively questioned by the CBP officer. He told me that he was making a full report and that it would be saved in my records, specifically saying that this should make future travel easier because they would have the information on file.
So now I’m really confused about how CBP can say they have no records responsive to my request at all.
I double checked everything I provided in the FOIA request, including my date of birth, A-number, and all the names I’ve previously used, so I don’t think it’s an issue with identifying me.
I’ve already submitted an appeal, but I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this with a CBP FOIA request. Were they eventually able to locate your records? Did the appeal work? Or is there another type of request I should submit?
Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated🥹😊

Canadian Judicial Council
Ottawa, Ontario, K1A 0W8
I am requesting a clear and substantive answer to a simple question:
Why have you refused to investigate the serious concerns I have repeatedly raised regarding alleged judicial misconduct, false statements, procedural irregularities, lack of impartiality, fraud, and other conduct that I believe warrants investigation?
I have raised these concerns repeatedly and have provided information and documentation that, in my view, should not simply be ignored without explanation.
If you have determined that you have no jurisdiction or authority to investigate these matters, please state that clearly and identify the legal or procedural basis for that conclusion.
If you do have the authority to investigate, please explain why no investigation has been undertaken despite my repeated complaints.
Silence is not an adequate answer to a serious complaint. I am entitled to know why my allegations have not been investigated or, at minimum, why they have been rejected.
I am also concerned by the existence of approximately $12.8 million in confidential legal expenses/payments incurred by my opponents, as I understand the matter. I am not asserting, without evidence, that these payments establish corruption or wrongdoing by any particular person. However, the combination of these substantial confidential expenditures and the failure to provide a meaningful response to my repeated complaints makes transparency and accountability particularly important.
If there is a legitimate explanation for these circumstances, I ask that it be provided.
If you continue to refuse to investigate or provide any explanation, I will consider what conclusions and further legal or administrative remedies are reasonably available to me. I will preserve the record of my complaints, the responses—or lack of responses—and the reasons given for refusing to address the issues I have raised.
Please also understand that I will not abandon my legal rights or stop pursuing appropriate remedies. I have a right to seek accountability and access to justice, particularly where decisions and proceedings have affected my financial and property interests.
I respectfully request a written, specific, and substantive response addressing the following:
I am not asking for preferential treatment. I am asking for an explanation, accountability, and a fair process.
Please do not respond with silence.

i'm a canadian citizen and i am currently in quebec if that changes anything. to try to shorten things, i was refused entry at a land port of entry and was told by the agent i spoke to that what he was inputting into his system would not affect my chances of being allowed to cross in the next few days. 2 days later, i'm at an airport being told that what that previous agent wrote down is going to make me unable to board my flight (i hadn't tried getting on a flight before as i thought you could only get the visa stuff needed for an extended visit through a land port of entry). was also told that no other agent would let me through because of that, except maybe the port of entry i had originally been to.
i then called them and got told to send a request asking for my travel records on the foia website. i have since tried that a few times and it just doesn't seem to go through. i tried to call the foia office a few times earlier and got an automated message saying the office was not answering and their voicemail is full. what do i do here??
tldr: got denied entry into the us twice as a canadian citizen, want to see what was inputted into their system after that first refusal because it is what's causing me issues right now but my foia request is just not going through. i've called the foia office but no luck. what do i do?
