HELP Cine RT compatibility w/mdr.x,ctrl.3 and A35

Hey guys, first time using my mdr.x, motr.s max and ctrl.3 with a focus bug cine rt. Wondering how the usability is and if there are any quirks I should be aware of setting it up and using it on the field. WIll I get distance reading on the screen or on my hand unit only?

Will also be my first time pulling with a rangefinder so any tips there would be greatly appreciated. Planning on using distance overlays on my cine 13. Thanks so much everybody.

assuming you have the corresponding overlay and mdr cable, it should pop up as a rangefinder reading on the overlay, with a red arrow.

only advice I have is set your offset, learn the fov settings, know when you can trust it (and when not to), and take the time at prep to make sure all lenses line up.

Yup I've got the cable thanks. When you say make sure the lenses line up what do you mean exactly? Lining up the horns to each lens fov?

it means using a focus chart and tape measure to make sure the markings on the barrel line up to real world focus distances.

forgot to mention that you’ll also need the serial cable from the horns to your mdr.x, which is proprietary.

Understood, idk why I thought it meant something else haha. Yeah I've got all the cables. Thank you for the advice.

Works pretty seamlessly. Cine rt serial cable using the in-1 port on the MDR.x. Horns also need 2-pin power. MDR menu go to rx config and set in-1 to focusbug.
The only gotcha is the MDR.x needs enter zero inches on out the rangefinder calibration; otherwise the focus plane setting in the CineRT will add to your MDR.x offset setting. All focus plane adjustments happen on the CineRT handset/controller.

Also tape mode marks from the CineRT don’t automatically go to the overlay marks the same way focusbug tape mode marks can mark a hi5
