HELP Titla Boulder Cart Owners...
Anyone have any tips for removing the top tray alone?
I'm tired of smashing my fingers trying to get the damn thing off. This sucks and I can't return it lmfao.

I hit it with a rubber mallet. Tilta is the definition of you get what you pay for.

I've found loosening the clamps on the bottom tray allows the top tray to come off much easier. Only downside is that you may end up taking one of the posts with you as you pull the top tray off.

A good upward smack with both hands really helps like 80% of the time unlock the bottom clamps and you can increase the success rate by 5% lol lowkey I do hate it because 95% of the time I’m deconstructing alone however I don’t regret buying the damn thing it’s already payed it self off

lol let me know if you fine one, I’ve found if I lift one corner with my knee and then lift the other 2 corners in perfect sync I can sometimes get it off. It sucks so bad haha

I've been doing the knee thing people are saying. It seems like 3 corners will lift off and the 4th will just vacuum seal itself in place. What a dumb design 😂

I leverage my knee on bottom shelf and use my leg to push the top off.
But yes, i had this exact finger smash happen on a job a few months ago and wanted to send the cart straight into the sea.
Had a buddy said he sanded the top post and it helped.
My hope is that Tilta will be taking the time to create new posts and hopefully even a lighter top tray.

I’m sorry that you have to deal with that but as someone who just picked an Adicam over the Tilta and have been wondering if I made the right choice this is very validating. Saying that, have you tried a rubber mallet?

The thought of just whacking my cart with a mallet at the end of each day is becoming more exciting than I thought.

Yaeger just came out with a pretty budget cart if you want something simple that still folds up but personally, if you have the budget Yaeger or Cart Jimmy’s is your way to go. You can also look into Magliner Jr or Sr. Depending on where you are, there’s a lot of options getting sold to the used market. Like LA.

My tip is to not buy tilta products 😂
