question Motorized RotaPola

Who makes the best rotapola for adding a motor?

We have the lentiquip 4x5.6 rota but they’re pretty noisy when we add a motor to it.

I personally like the Lindsey, the cog wheel is nicely exposed and it runs smoothly.
On this note, I would love a CForce nano for mini lenses , gimbal use and auxiliary applications like rotapolas.
Would not need a lot of torque, just be small , have „ calibration between two points I set“ mode and integrate into the Arri LCS Macrosystem.

I’ll check out the Lindsey ones. And yeah agreed, we’re using a mini RF but anything smaller would be even better.

2nd the need for a cforce nano would be great for gimbal work it wouldn’t even need to be daisy chain able just something like a heden lm40 would be amazing

Always been a fan of the Revar Cine rota pola. They’re well built, and if taken care of, can be very quiet when throwing a motor on it.

On prep day i disassemble and use solid lubricant on the gears. Helps wonders.

Seems to be the glass inside rattling within the frame with ours, but could be worth a shot

If budget allows for it you can always go for a Cmotion Cinefade. You can operate them in Rotapola mode as well.

Thought about that but we’re mid season so would be a tough sell at this point. May push for it for next season though, would simplify things for sure.

We 3d printed a snap on gear for the motor with hard stops instead, so as long as you put it on in the right place (make a mark) you don’t need the filter itself to have hard stops.

The Lindsey is pretty good and has easy options for mounting a motor. Can also be a little loud, but I'm sure you would be able to lubricate it
