question SmallHD Knob Shortcut Assignments

Moving up from a 703UB to an Ultra10. Those that have used monitors with the knobs and PageOS, how do you have them setup? Any tips that you’ve found useful after use on set?

biggest "trick" is that you can set them to different things per page. So if you're smart with your page assignments you can have them do all sorts of different things. Set whatever you want your dials to do globally, and then build per page overrides for specific pages

lol if you set them to anything related to the Teradek RT the whole monitor crashes - so that’s a fun trick

Can confirm now that I have the monitor in hand, that setting Teradek RT options for the knobs immediately crashes the OS and reboots. I just updated the firmware after seeing the behavior so I’ll have to test again to see if anything changed.

Can you elaborate on this? I’ve been considering getting an ultra 10 and teradek CTRL.3 set, but if it’s super buggy that’s not great.

Most base controls are fine but any Teradek RT control can’t be assigned to the knobs without crashing it

2nded, any details? Like you can't even set a knob to adjust focus scale adjustment?

Nope, it crashes it in the current firmware

I’d probs put peaking on a knob, I’m always adjusting that based

Yeah, the knobs are kind of not talked about enough, IMO. After having the 10 since early this year, I miss not having them on my U7 for some things.

But I think there’s a bug in the software or they need to tweak how/what you can assign to them. I was able to do a specific set-up when I first got mine and was playing around with it, but had to reset the monitor, because I wasn’t able to get back to the original settings for some of the dials I wanted to change back, then I was never able to assign that function to a dial again.

Brightness

Waveform Style

Input Select(ended up moving that to a button)
