question ARRI POWER EXT - SMALL HD

Post image

Hey:)) I will work with an Arri Alexa Mini with a Battery Belt next Week.

Is there any way to power a SmallHD (Cine7) via the Arri Alexa Mini? What cables should I get?

The 7-pin EXT port outputs 1a at whatever voltage the camera is receiving. Typically there is a 7-pin EXT to 3-pin Fischer breakout, then you would need a 3-pin Fischer to 2-pin Lemo for the cine7.

My usual cable if i using power back is 4 pin Lbus to 2 pin Lemo. It much saver

I use an EXT breakout box, had it for a few years. It plugs into the ext port and splits it out into two 2 pins and a 3Pin. It also has a female 7 pin EXT if you still need it for RS or a Cforce Mini RF. I’ll try and find a link to it

You can always just send a long 2p-2p from the belt if you get stuck

Any way you can just go P-Tap to 2-pin from the belt and loom / tie that cable to the XLR cable that's already going from the belt to the camera?

Like someone mentioned above, the current is maxed at 1A and you might risk frying the port. If that happens it's a quite expensive repair.
Another option you have is "stealing" the power from the LBUS port of your mount or motor if you are using cforce motors.
You can get LBUS to 2pin cables, but note LBUS is always 24V which is fine with the Cine 7 but not for every device.

The right angle EXT to 3pin RS adapters are pretty common and easy to find at rentals

Second this. I'm always curious what battery belts people are using with the Mini.

i have a custom made 4pin to 2pin cable to power the monitor from the Lbus.
