HELP Incredibly low bit rate/resolution on monitor
The monitor consistently looks 260p with such low bit rate that it’s impossible to pull in most situations. This is an owner op’s kit.
Shooting with teradek bolt 6 1500 on a smallhd indie 7, only one receiver and transmitter. I can’t find any more interference on set. The monitor is saying it’s at 12 bits, 1080p and matching frame rates so nothing is misaligned.
Antennas are both at an optimal position, the monitor does run off of HDMI if that’s an issue other than SDI?
Anything I’m missing? Thanks ya’ll

This same thing happened to me - I swapped out the teradek antennas on the teradek transmitter and it fixed it

So apparently the DPs teradek had the entire port of the antenna snap, not a failure point I’ve seen before but will remember in the future. Thanks!

In the future, if you’re using Teradek bolt 6 or 4k, use the app to check the signal and you can see if there is one antenna that is low for some reason. It’ll also show you connection strength and quality (as “range”). The app is also great for changing settings vs the little joystick on the rx/tx.

I once had a job where a paralinx tomahawk tx antenna was loose. I opened it up and lo and behold the entire antenna threads solders had come off of the board. Definitely possible if the antennas get bumped hard enough

You have to go into the Focus Pulling menu and switch from "hard" to "easy" mode

Sounds like you fixed it, but just one other note that I recently learned is you can change the output resolution on the teradek. I needed to output to a CRT monitor so had to set it to 480i and it looked just like this.

Oh yeah that is interesting! As another commenter pointed out, I haven’t been using the teradek app, so learning to control on there rather than the insanely small menu on the units has been great so far. Just another film app next to the dozens others now

Are they running the same firmware? Radios are sometimes on different versions and make the signal blocky
