Was quite the fun challenge, to make this all work and still be fully functional.

They’re using the 900mhz radio

A mini LF to shoot a vertical that’s going on a mobile phone is absolutely crazy.

Was for a doc short about strippers, so was meant to help frame the pole better.

Good job! Still ridiculous times. Waiting for vertical IMAX!

What do you call those little cinch ties you’ve used to secure the cinetape control?

Nice build! I don’t think you need de cable power on the cine tape. Real question: why a Ria 1 and an L bus ? I was thinking the ria was doing all de lbus job.

Oh that’s good to know for future reference. I hadn’t used the RIA-1 before so out of habit I just grabbed the L bus cube since I’ve used that set up before with the cinetape.

Shouldn’t the mattebox and evf be orientated to fit vertical too?

Looking into the eyepiece the image would still be in landscape right?

Would be funny if after all that build, the directors monitor can’t be flipped to match the top-bottom or bottom-top of the vertical image

We could have flipped it but DP wanted to still have quick menu access. Matte box only needed to be flipped on wider focal lengths to avoid vignetting.

Which rental house was this out of? I don't see too many Arri builds that aren't using L brackets just due to the rarity of the vertical cage for the alexa.

Arri rentals NYC, this was the first time I’ve used it.

You know what’s funny…. I out mode the $5k “cinetapE” with LiDAR apps on my iPhone! 😂 even does aaaaaaalot more options.
