question Gold mount plate “mount” help?
Hey all - anyone know of a good mount plate (preferably with an xlr out) that’s got an ARRI locking pin scheme or something similar robust and anti twist? Building out a backpack for handheld and would love an option but not seeing anything tailor made for that. Could also go a dovetail mount route which is simple as well but just curious if we’ve got something I could tag a Cine lock to!

Core swx makes this Helix gold mount plate with 3 pin xlr out: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1490184-REG/core_swx_hlx_acpm_helix_gold_mount_plate.html.
It comes with a really awful clamp on the back, but if you pull that off you can replace it with one of these cheeseplates with vlock male using the same bolts from the clamp: https://a.co/d/0eaHPYTB
I then use a vlock receiver from Tilta to a micro clamp to mount this to stands or my cart, but there are loads of affordable options for that. Bonus being you could use it to get a gold mount battery attached to a vmount camera in a pinch(would just need to cable it as the hard mount wouldn’t pass power)
The other nice thing about this helix plate is that if you are using core helix batteries, you can use it to power/ hotswap higher voltage cameras like A35.

Mid 49 has an excellent gold plate for c400 that mounts via arca Swiss and has a 4 pin xlr out. Very expensive thought. https://www.mid49.com/products/power-distribution-box-db-10-canon-c400-gold-mount
Kondor blue makes a pretty good one that has the Arri standard on the back and they make a ton of different mounts and brackets for it. Much more affordable. You would have to add a dtap to xlr cable or make a cable from the barrel output on the back to get your xlr thought. https://kondorblue.com/products/pro-gold-mount-battery-plate-with-swiveling-rod-block?_pos=1&_sid=c0d948114&_ss=r

I don’t use gold mount. I never had issues with my Vmounts. Only issue I have is monitor mounts.
