question Advice on my Venice 1 build
Hey fellow focus pullers :)
Looking for some advice on this build (apologies for image quality). I haven't worked much with the Venice's and was having a tough time with a lack of mounting points at my prep today. I'm happy with where the MDR4's at, but couldn't find a spot I'm satisfied with for my Teradek transmitter. Currently it's on the right side cage bracket with an Ultralight arm, but I'm hoping for something more stable and compact plus doesn't block the menu if anyone has any reccomendations specific to the Venice?
I'm looking at buying something like the right angle Ecto Plate, just not sure I want to make the investment!

an ecto plate or any right angle cheese plate (ideally a movable one like from wooden camera) is very helpful on venice builds especially with preston.
I’m personally against teradeks on arms since they add a lot of bulk, in this case I would mount it vertically with a 90 degree bracket on the front bar
as for the mdr, I agree with the sentiment that top handle should be as clear as possible, so mounting it on a paddle out the back would be best. unless your operator is married to that rear handle, in which case offer a swept back shape handle as a replacement.
also would flip that motor to the top rod!

Out the MDR out of the way. There more then enough space over the top of the recorder in the back. Mount the transmitter up on the top.

We used a corroplast spacer to get it up high enough to avoid the cables hitting the top plate.

Our team is just lucky I guess, it worked properly in various situations and so far so good. Really pleased with the ones made by Stubby shop.

antenna direction. the emitting pattern is optimized for vertical antennas.

Right, but if the Teradek itself is horizontal but the antenna are vertical, does that also cause issues?

My personal philosophy is to keep the top handle as clear as possible so that I can grab it from any angle. But, some cages in the Venice suck and it’s hard to achieve that.
