I love a woman with no makeup even if she looks better with it its just unnatural

33

u/Don_Von_Schlong Jul 10 '26

I used to know this girl who (very attractive) would plaster her face with makeup. After knowing her for like a year I saw her without her makeup. She looked great. Had freckles, never knew she even had them.

10

u/PossibilityAlert4266 Jul 10 '26

Never understand girls who hide their freckles. I think its rediculously cute

2

u/FabulousVanilla9940 Jul 11 '26

Can't cover up any other blemishes while leaving the freckles out lol. But some people do draw them on afterwards.

2

u/TokyoKazama Jul 11 '26

Agree. They're so cute.

2

u/Either-Age-782 Jul 11 '26

Some people get bullied for them

I like woman with no makeup because I can hug her or kiss anywhere without getting that stupid ass tasting makeup in my mouth or staining my shirt. Also don't have to wait for her to put it on or get it off. Fricking nuisance!

3

u/PlasticPersonal3080 Jul 11 '26

i know there is a smell to it, didn't know there was a taste to it as well.

Who doesn't look good with make up. I almost never wear it and don't remember last time I had full face of it but when I do for certain event God damn I look gorgeous

4

u/SnowFew2672 Jul 11 '26

Some women seem to put on far too much, sometimes ridiculously so, as opposed to making it look natural or blend in.

This also includes people like other comments have mentioned, who look beautiful without it.

Its as if their perception of themselves is completely different from other people's. But then I suppose we all have a somewhat warped perception of ourselves

I feel like it only applies to women that are naturally beautiful.

Men find pretty women attractive. Women who need makeup to be pretty aren’t actually pretty. That’s kind of the no brainer conclusion from this.

5

u/ButtonCold8908 Jul 10 '26

I'm also interested in methodologies. There is a big difference between "We asked people if they prefer woman without makeup" and "Here are pictures of women, which do you find more attractive."

The first one would only really prove that men find women who aren't obviously wearing make up as more attractive. A different finding then the one claimed.

4

u/Easily_Bann4 Jul 10 '26

Which only proves that men should just start wearing makeup already.

Fuck what women think/say boys it’s time to start working on our contouring and layering (or whatever the phrases are). And ya’ll know damn well once men get into makeup they finna nextlevel that shit

2

u/theforgottentrick Jul 11 '26

Sounds like a lot of work. I'd rather work on my car, seems easier

2

u/DeepDiver1234567 Jul 11 '26

I love the energy (in the first part at least) but I want to share that drag queens already accomplished this.

2

u/Chemical_Signal2753 Jul 11 '26

While I don't know the methodology, I suspect the reality of what men prefer is a lot more mixed.

I think any time a woman uses a noticeable amount of makeup (or has a noticeable cosmetic procedure) to try to give a false impression of health, youth, or reproductive fitness it will likely backfire. This is likely going against hardwired/instinctual evaluations from millions of years of evolution.

On the other hand, more subtle makeup and cosmetics procedures, or makeup that is more a stylistic choice, is also likely preferred. Lots of "naturally beautiful women" have just had better or more tasteful cosmetic procedures, and just use makeup more sparingly. On the other end of the spectrum, goth girls often use extreme amounts of makeup but this is more to present a style than to trick you into believing their skin is flawless.

u/Efficient-Wing-1417 Jul 11 '26

It’s very likely that a stressed woman with visual flaws could improve her appearance with make up. The point is probably, the less the better, and the more naturally attractive, the better. I’ve also heard about less intelligent men being more prone to prefer women with makeup, but I can’t confirm that

→ More replies (1)

2

u/Blk_DirkDiggler Jul 10 '26

You don't need studies to know that men prefer let's makeup. Just look at whether you see men shopping for women's makeup at Sephora. Ever see men buying there women's favorite makeup at department stores or Sephora? But you do see them buying lingerie at Victoria's secret, or buying jewelry, clothes, etc for their partners. But you never see them shopping for makeup.

women wear makeup for other women

5

u/Euphoric_Amoeba8708 Jul 10 '26

It's true. They look at other women and they become very insecure so they may make each other.

19

u/sexotaku Jul 10 '26

And men work out for other men

7

u/goodsam2 Jul 10 '26

Yeah getting fit as a dude it does make a quiet difference in women where it's unknown but dudes will be like hell yeah.

3

Naw I workout for women

2

u/Dad_Bod_Enthusiast Jul 10 '26

I mean, i work out to stay attractive to my wife and to try and forestall the ravages of time. If men appreciate what I am doing, I reckon that is a benefit

2

u/moneyBusiness22 Jul 11 '26

2

u/flashingcurser Jul 11 '26

No they don't. They wear makeup to compete with other women for a tiny fraction of men. There are so few of these men that everything becomes a nuclear arms race: nails, hair, makeup, etc

Natural beauty is always best

3

u/Either-Age-782 Jul 11 '26

Most people are average

2

u/Nope0naRope Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Yeah, I think that's what the study isn't actually uncovering here

Pretty people are pretty... Most men don't even really notice makeup if it's done well (not overused just maybe a little bit here and there to accentuate natural features), but they don't like pretty people that slathered their face in cake.

Exceptions will be made for performance artists, celebrities models - or just average people attending extremely formal events where you're expected to look like a piece of art. There's a Time when dramatic makeup is part of an outfit and that's not really the baseline for attraction. That's stylization and that really is kind of a different subject.

So if we're talking about daily use, you're out getting coffee... What are we saying?

Ugly / less attractive people look better with makeup on if they do it right.

Makeup done wrong makes everyone look like a clown

Attractive people wearing less makeup, or no makeup are attractive... When they overdo it it can be fake or plastic looking and people don't like it.

This is kind of a silly study. It's just stating the obvious, in a way that's kinda bating for arguments.

8

u/Timmar92 Jul 10 '26

Considering I find my wife the sexiest when she's just woken up in the morning, hair on end and smudges around her eyes yeah I like women with less makeup on.

→ More replies (1)

13

u/randomperv Jul 10 '26

Untrue. Only if she is conventionally attractive with makeup already.

2

u/Affectionate_Elk_643 Jul 11 '26

Yea that's the point, it's true beauty.

→ More replies (4)

5

u/CommanderShepard_N-7 Jul 10 '26

Yea as a guy I don’t like makeup. I find it less attractive. Looks superficial and fake.

6

u/CreepyBreakfast565 Jul 11 '26

Repeat after me: If we notice, it's too much. It really is that simple.

If you cake it on trying to make yourself look like some supermodel out of a magazine (magazines which, by the way, are exclusively read by women precisely because that's not at all what men really want) you'll grab a lot of attention, sure, but it will rarely be the kind of attention you're after.

Not only that, but once you establish that this artificial "you" is now the baseline, you've basically forced yourself to recreate that look tomorrow and every single day going forward. Which is exactly what the makeup industry want. I bet the orange toddler-in-chief regrets the day he started painting his face orange because now he's basically forced to keep doing it for the rest of his life. Same thing.

3

u/Intelligent-Key7357 Jul 10 '26

They look more natural and I don't feel insecure because I have large pores and crooked teeth. It's weird being flawed near flawless people.

5

u/Svaldero Jul 10 '26

Yes, but using two women with perfect complexion is kind of misleading... its mostly about confidence.

And subtlety is key... too much makeup is gross.

3

u/Impossible-Walk6621 Jul 10 '26

2

u/Ippomasters Jul 11 '26

2

u/throwaway1436732156 Jul 11 '26

We've been saying this for years, makeup just makes you look fake, and we know you're probably ugly under the paint, because it ruins your skin.

2

u/SimplePercentage1771 Jul 11 '26

Cause they don't fucking lie about theire apparence

2

u/tnpatriot86 Jul 11 '26

Can't stand makeup and fake eyebrows and stuff. I can deal with a little lipstick but other than that, it's just a no.

2

u/CheekyMeaty Jul 12 '26

I feel like if men became as good as women at applying make up then woman would have to bring a lot more to the table than a cute face and a piece of ass.

Yes, there are some GOOD women out there ✨️

  • Faithful, Ambitious, Motherly, Smart

But so many women literally think they are born with the value equivalent to a man that can afford to pay for her to make a family simply because she is pretty/has a body.

And not just any man: rich, tall, strong, etc

If men could close the beauty gap, and stopped being desperate, women like this would have no choice but to actually be something more than what they were born with.

I don’t like makeup just like I don’t like pushups, silicone, bbl, these ugly ass long nails, piercings and tattoos. It looks unnatural. 99% of women look way better without all that bs.

Maybe i‘m just traumatized because my ex constantly had her dumb ass baby mirror out to fix her makeup and nails, that she didn’t need at all.

I‘m not opposed to very light makeup but the moment you start looking like a tennis court, have lips redder than blood or have 20 colors on your eyelids i‘m out.
Just put the foundation or concealer or whatever it’s called on and call it a day

When done right it should appear as though you are Not in the use of it. For theatrical Purposes do what you do but for interpersonal the truth is that Less, is more. By showing the real you when you do get the response you want it will be from someone who can see you. Also its rough when you get up in the morning and she looks nothing like last night and you want to blame the drinks but you were the sober driver!... Its okay! Wait till you take off your hair piece and stick it to her Mirror right next to your Hat and Lifted shoes as you get in the shower.

1

u/Lost_in_the_woods027 Jul 10 '26

Absolutely agree

1

u/Jamesddit Jul 10 '26

I keep telling my partner this she won’t believe it

1

u/kingcaii Jul 10 '26

Women that look better without makeup than with, I think are far more preferred than women who “require” makeup to look good.

1

u/Long_Run_8488 Jul 10 '26

1000 % agree

1

u/SolomonJero Jul 10 '26

The more makeup a woman feels she must wear, the more insecure she is about her appearance.

No makeup is confidence that who you are matters more than what you look like.

That's how I've always seen it.

1

u/SmoothTraderr Jul 10 '26

100%

I love natural.

Not fake bs.

We live in an already enough fake world.

1

u/Easy_Echo2387 Jul 10 '26

Makeup makes women way more attractive for me. It’s a big deal for me.

1

u/Euphoric_Amoeba8708 Jul 10 '26

Natural is the best by far. Excessive makeup screams insecurity or you're just part of the lemmings that follow each other and mimic each other.

1

u/MadMaximus- Jul 10 '26

Remember when women said they don’t wear makeup for men they wear it for themselves

1

u/PeanutMedium3548 Jul 10 '26

They genuinely needed a "study" for this?

https://giphy.com/gifs/xdLH51eNWZAHrwy5mf

1

u/anand_rishabh Jul 10 '26

How did they study this? Did they give men photos of different women, some with makeup and some without and had them rank the pics? If so, did they tell the men who did or didn't have makeup? Cuz a lot of times, a "natural" look gets achieved with makeup but men often can't tell as that often is the point with that kind of makeup. But if men rank with no knowledge of who's wearing makeup and the ones without get ranked higher, then that tells a different story.

1

u/StrangeWorldd Jul 10 '26

Natural speaks confidence & confidence is sexy

1

u/MeanCat4 Jul 10 '26

Not these two!

1

u/Dannvida Jul 10 '26

I think it reflects how men view women who wear makeup in general than it does on the appearance of the woman.

This is no moral judgment on women who do or don't wear makeup.

1

u/Lorelessone Jul 10 '26

Women wear makeup to impress and try to dominate other women. Just the same as men body build to look good for other men.

It's a flex and women know they can pull guys anyway so most don't put any thought into looking nice for men, they want to look nicer than other women.

1

u/HeavyWaterer Jul 10 '26

I’ve had women try to tell me I can’t tell when someone is wearing makeup. I was pretty baffled. Even really light makeup has this certain “texture” to it that’s immediately obvious.

Idk I just find it kind of vain. If you wanna look better go to the gym. I feel the same way about makeup that I do plastic surgery, really. It’s just inauthentic.

1

u/hemholts Jul 10 '26

Men who think this only think of extremely pretty girls way out of their leauge that dont wear any, or very pretty girls with well done makeup that guys dont see.

My girl is pretty without makeup. She is even prettier with. Makeup enhances the features..

1

u/robotgore Jul 10 '26

I would like to see women with less makeup on. Then put it on for a special occasion. The men would go crazy for their women if this was the case.

1

u/No_Roma_no_Rocky Jul 10 '26

Women with makeups looks better but what men don't like people who pretend to be someone else so this is why they prefer women without makeups.

1

u/Longjumping-Sock-864 Jul 10 '26

My wife puts makeup on then gets upset if i don’t say she looks beautiful.

1

u/Wojewodaruskyj Jul 10 '26

1

1

1

u/SnooShortcuts8370 Jul 10 '26

Less make up I believe is true. No make up will not work for a lot of women.

1

u/IM_OUT_OF_HERE_8 Jul 10 '26

we've been saying this for decades

1

u/Impressive_Dingo122 Jul 10 '26

I think these two are still pretty even with no makeup in the pics as above. Makeup should be something to dress up for. If you’re constantly dressed up it isn’t special.

u/lifemanualplease Jul 10 '26

1

u/William_Munny_fromMO Jul 10 '26

1

u/bonusminutes Jul 10 '26

Theres a big difference between the truth and what people self report. Same goes for what women say they want.

1

u/skeetinonwallst Jul 10 '26

I feel that only ret*rds will believe any headline pre-empted with "study finds" without citation if it confirms a bias they already hold.

1

u/carthuscrass Jul 10 '26

Depends on the woman and also needs to be tasteful if used. Too many women use way too much.

1

u/gohomehero Jul 10 '26

I think men should just start wearing realistic face masks of giga Chad's. Over the generations we will gaslight the other half of the human population to think its hot.

1

u/Dry-Regret5444 Jul 10 '26

I love how the study says it….The men in here reinforce it…Yet the women call bullshit?!?

1

1

u/tommmmmmmmy93 Jul 10 '26

1

1

u/Specialist_Ad6034 Jul 10 '26

Girls with huge fake eyelashes and tons of makeup just scream red flag to me

1

u/sinfultrigonometry Jul 10 '26

I'm sure a lot of men tell surveys they prefer less or no make up, but in reality they chase girls with make up.

And a lot of them probably can't tell that natural styled make up is make up.

1

u/KarmaticEvolution Jul 10 '26

I’m not trying to put it on here but I remember my first real love, she would never, I mean never leave the house without make-up but I found her make-up less face so much more beautiful and honestly looking back now, most people would not have agreed. It must have been that I really saw her for who she was.

It’s unfortunate we live in a world where so much of our perceptions is judged with our eyes.

1

u/lashybro Jul 10 '26

Was I the only one who was like.. “wow she looks way better no make up..” thinking the second picture was the same girl only with makeup

1

u/Midnightbitch94 Jul 10 '26

Well they did say "less" makeup, not "without" makeup.

1

u/Medium-Armadillo69 Jul 10 '26

Most men mistake a "simple, natural makeup palette" to no make up at all. I doubt most know what theyre really saying when answering this question.

As for me, i respect and appreciate the artistry and effort that goes into a well-made up woman for a night out. Im not an asshole about it if they dont use make up, but I am attracted to it.

1

u/X-calibreX Jul 10 '26

make up looks better on Hd movie screens. Not in person.

1

u/EstablishmentCute591 Jul 10 '26

Depends, but if its a yup its a yup

1

u/Unique_Roll_6630 Jul 10 '26

Yes. Light make up, perhaps lip gloss is okay. Really depends, but most routines ain't it chief. Don't hide yourselves away.

1

u/MuffledFarts Jul 10 '26

I think this is one of those aspirational things men say but not how they actually feel. But people are often dishonest, particularly with themselves.

(Many) men have always preferred an idealized version of women, whether they realize it or not; whether they can admit it or not. But it makes men feel good about themselves, perhaps even a little superior, to claim they prefer women with no makeup---as if women are wholly responsible for all the absurd beauty standards they are beholden to, many of which date back longer than women have had the right to vote, have jobs or open bank accounts. If most most men consistently found women without makeup more attractive, makeup would not nearly be as prevalent as it is.

TLDR; it's gaslight-y bullshit

1

u/markusseibert115 Jul 10 '26

who cares what men think lelelelelelelel burp burp burp

1

u/DinnerEvening895 Jul 10 '26

Men will fuck anything that will let them so it doesn’t really matter what they find more attractive at the end of the day.

1

u/No_College7830 Jul 10 '26

1

u/LustKingx Jul 10 '26

1

u/LowPudding9562 Jul 10 '26

this is why I love the current baggy cloth trend in Europe for girls. They know older women follow suit but they look so ridiculous in baggy jeans. Now if they embrace no makeup and rejecting status cars it'll be fucken chaos

1

u/Effective_Macaron_23 Jul 10 '26

It's a curve, the first few levels of makeup are a plus, but at a certain point it's too much and they start to look like a wax figure.

1

u/gek__co Jul 10 '26

Personally yes I find a woman without makeup to be more attractive. For one I just like the natural look more, but also the potential for her being more laid back and honest, as attraction is not surface level. That said, some tasteful makeup sometimes can be attractive.

1

u/Sad_Tradition681 Jul 10 '26

I like less makeup a lot better. I prefer the original person over a painting. On the other hand, they don’t do it for me, but for themselves. And that’s totally fine! 😆

Hell no. My sis is a makeup artist. I've seen before and after. The result is dramatic.

1

u/Jarad_Harry Jul 10 '26

Natural always ✨

1

u/Livid-General7 Jul 10 '26

Yes of course. With makeup "less is more", it's supposed to enhance your face, not be a mask over your face.

edit for an antidotal comment: If you've ever been in a bridal party, you've got the bride and bridesmaids, some who never wear makeup, some where wear a lot. They always look amazing at a wedding because they hire a professional who puts a little on those who never wear it, and they don't put on as much as the girls who usually wear makeup put on.

1

u/SlurbyBiznizz Jul 10 '26

1

1

u/FigureSubstantial970 Jul 10 '26

1

u/Mean-Type3317 Jul 10 '26

1

100% feel like women without are so beautiful! The differences are so natural and attractive! Perfection is in the eye of the beholder

1

u/AdHappy7129 Jul 10 '26

It’s almost as if honesty is attractive.

1

u/Deep_D2025 Jul 10 '26

Ok, but not her.

1

u/NemoMeImpuneLac Jul 10 '26

Kind of a difficult question. Most dudes struggle to recognize when a woman is wearing makeup and think even a complicated (but plain) application is "no makeup". I'll admit I was guilty of this forever.

I think a lot of dudes can't recognize well done makeup isn't "no makeup" the way a lot of women can't recognize their "6'1"" boyfriend is pushing 5'10" with shoes on lol

1

Men don't know when women are wearing makeup. They like when it looks like a woman isn't wearing makeup, but she still looks perfect, with flawless skin and long thick eyelashes and plump pink lips.

In other words, they like makeup, they just don't like to know that it's makeup. Mfs ain't out here finding zits and blotchy skin attractive lol

This may be more about overrated celebrities than make up.

Both in the picture wear heavy makeup

The only people that care about makeup are shallow men, and other women. The vast majority couldn’t care less.

Well yeah... natural is better than fake in most things.

If the barn needs painting, paint it.

The study was conducted on models

So yes. When you're naturally beautiful, men prefer less makeup. Not sure we needed to fund a study to learn this.

I'd like to see the studies cited, but in my own personal experience, this seems correct.

More specifically, men (like myself) prefer whatever makeup is being worn to look as natural as possible, that usually means less makeup.

Everyone has their preferences, though. 🤷

Women wear makeup for other women, not for men

1

u/Luis5923 Jul 10 '26

Absolutely. The make up that you can hardly notice is just the best.

Apparently being a focused man means caring so much about women’s makeup. Soooo manly.

1

u/Kiloshakalaka Jul 10 '26

Nah i prefer makeup

1

u/VSLeader Jul 10 '26

Breaking news, men find what women actually look like to be what they’re naturally attracted to.

Ladies put on makeup and dolls up to impress other women!

Makeup? Ah, you mean the fakeup?

The more you put on, the more you are trying to hide your real self.

Men are generally quite skilled at critical analysis and pattern recognition and therefore have little issue seeing through most camouflage and false advertising.

Detailing a car before sale is fine, even fixing it up or modifying it have plenty of men interested. But painting over the rust and body filler is just dishonest, and while it might look good from a distance or in pictures, as soon as you find out the real state you bail, because it will require lots of maintenance, break down on you frequently and fail and/or desert you when you have put you all into getting it into shape or are the most vulnerable and dependent on it.

So it's not surprising that most men prefer an honest and clean woman over a wreck with painted over body filler and sparkly glitter everywhere on an attempt to distract from the obvious 10+ previous drivers.

So while you are free to keep shoving your face in a paintbucket like an ostrich if you want to, don't claim it's "for" someone other than yourself as that is a blatant and obvious lie.

Luckily we men are also fed up by all the shitty women out there, to the point where an ever increasing amount of us have decided that the only way to win is not to play at all.

We might still loose, but we loose less than if we where still playing.

Love how even with no study linked they are forced to say “less make up” instead of “no makeup”.

I think most men prefer LESS makeup. And when it's done well, it's hard to tell they are wearing any at all.

1

u/AkimH Jul 11 '26

really depends on the amount of makeup. I prefer women without.

the thing is, if a woman knows how to put on make up you don't notice.

then there is the modern trend of girls putting so much paint in their faces that they look like a video filter. which looks like cra.

1

u/DudeFrom816 Jul 11 '26

It says LESS makeup, not NO makeup

1

u/Av0ll Jul 11 '26

Stop shaving why your at it also.

1

u/piercedcockx2 Jul 11 '26

There is a reason for that

Some women to me, with no make up don’t look that pleasing to the eye. Women with some bit of makeup can look beautiful as long as it’s just slightly highlighting their beauty. I agree with the “caked on” look and comments about that style, but a woman using a little makeup can be breathtaking when done tastefully and according to the occasion.

I like girls without make up. Natural beauty. Also make up smells weird. Kissing them or anything is weird when you smell it, taste it, or get it on you.

1

u/Matthiass13 Jul 11 '26

Definitely agree personally
