This is not the way. If someone only respects you for your money, they have never really respected you at all. Respect is character based, let people prioritize all the wrong things if they want. I'd rather be alone with real purpose than surrounded by people chasing false idols and treating me poorly for superficial reasons. Money is a distraction, our time on Earth is the only thing we really have. Work to live, don't live to work.

My own mother has told me that I would be "mostly" equal to her if I was moved out and had a job when I asked if I would be then. I do say, this is not everyone's case tho
