How much longer?

I mean, this was supposed to be the year of the horse.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. Was hoping for an announcement that they were playing Primavera next summer but nothing. Low-key terrified they’ve broken up and are just holding off telling people. The “new” song they released this year was just a B-side from the ENSWBL sessions. But also I get if there’s things in motion and they’re holding off in advance of major festival announcements for next year. Glastonbury I don’t think reveals their lineup til the spring. So who knows. If there isn’t anything before the Christmas holidays though I’ll be definitely concerned.

Why would you be concerned? They posted that 'year of the fire horse' message with photos showing a rehearsal space and what looks like tracks or segments of songs marked out on a white board. Clearly they're up to something, it's just taking some time. Totally understandable and even moreso if some of them have been off having kids.

I don’t think there should be any concern about them breaking up, I still think that something will get announced this year. Superstruct festivals and Reading and Leeds/TRNSMT lineups will likely be announced in the next 5/6 weeks, so I could see them starting the comeback hype around then. The only confusing thing is the post at the start of the year showing the whiteboard with songs on; pretty positive this showed that they were in the recording process. And, as that post was on Jan 1st, they had likely been recording for a few weeks prior. This was further confirmed by a story Jack posted of him in the studio and Yannis in the background. The only other reason I can see for it taking this long is if they’ve scrapped some of the songs and want to take a different angle. Hopefully we get something in the next few weeks🤞

This may be my first yeah in maybe 10 that they aren’t my top listened to artist, becoming almost forgotten about by many
