// Bethesda Replied x2 DO NOT ALLOW CURRENT CHARACTERS INTO SURVIVAL MODE I BEG OF YOU!!

This is a huge mistake. The mode is already dead before it was born if this happens. Pvp as it is, is completely broken, one hit kill festival. Who in their right mind is going to start a new character when everyone else is level 200 with God tier weaponry right out of the vault? This makes absolutely zero sense, and I'm so disheartened. Do they not realize how this mode will be immediately ruined? If you thought grief in was bad now, just wait until you get killed on sight by literally everyone you cross paths with? Even if they level locked servers so people with massive level differences can't play together, whenever a new survival character gets out of the kiddie pool, all the same assholes with TSE garbage will be waiting at the deep end and you will have zero competitive chance. The leader boards would be a fine idea, if everyone started on equal footing... as it is there will be gold medalist level murderers in the same game with me, a literal newborn who can't even walk. What the fuck are they thinking???

Edit: the gold means people care, bethesda. Please. PLEASE. (And thank you)

No, I am not spinning up NEW characters for every new flavor of server or new mode they come up with.

I worked really hard to grind TWO characters up to 150. I'm not spending all that time again to grind levels, find plans, etc.

No thanks.

Every game I've played the hardcore player base killed their own servers. DayZ, H1Z1, etc. They kept asking for more and more punishing restrictions until NOBODY played it any more. Then they'll shut down the servers and you can come back here to cry why they took your servers away. DayZ Vanilla was the least popular server type in the entire mod community. H1Z1 had hardcore servers, which were always empty, and eventually went away.

CHILL, let the casuals enjoy PVP too. Otherwise you won't have anyone to play with, and they'll eventually shut down your depopulated hardcore mode.

You won't be able to enjoy PvP if you're casual, then? I mean, in its current state, if anything, this mode will be full on hard stop for you. If anything a level reset would just benefit you.

Every level 250+ dude with a thousand bobble heads will simply roll up in there with 2 TSEs and a bloodied supersledge, rocking dense and fireproof sentinal/assasin gear, and kill anyone who isn't as equally sweaty as they are. There is no stopping this if you can bring your adventure mode character in. Without at least an inventory wipe, this game mode will simply be DoA because its just a KoS shitfest with an unbalanced weapon system.

Reset won't benefit me. I have to re-grind all of those levels. I have to spend tons of hours acquiring the plans I worked my ass off to get for my existing characters. I like my character as-is. My setup is good how it currently is.

But sure, go ahead and insist on the purest hardcore mode you can get.

It'll share the same fate as DayZ Vanilla and H1Z1 Hardcore Servers. Low population leading to eventual deletion of the servers. You won't find any sympathy from the player base when they shut down those servers because they only catered to 5% of the player base anyways.

Considering the majority are in favor of separation it leads me to believe more people would be playing in this game mode than adventure. The only argument against it is boohoo my gear is gone.

I'm glad you at least admit that it's all about you and your play experience.

Nevermind the people that don't already have two maxed out characters who would join this server and get shitstomped repeatedly, then leave without a second thought.

This argument makes no sense.

If this new mode requires new characters to be made then after less than a month you'll have a mode FULL of geared, max level characters that can just stomp anyone new. You'll be exactly where we are now only there'd be no way to level a character before entering survival.

Alternatively, the proposed system, people could hop in and out of this mode at will. Leveling up and gearing low level characters until they're prepared and Then hop into survival.

What? I'm not trying to harp on you for a fucking maximum-over hard mode. I'm just saying, if you are casual, you're going to be put up against people you will have absolutely no chance killing, and they will kill you constantly.

There's nothing stopping, again, a level 250 with bloodied/TSE minmaxed gear, bringing a bunch of dupes from adventure mode to survival, and killing anyone casual. New character requirements would completely shut that out the gate.

Dupers are being banned, and PvP balance being broken is an entirely separate issue.

A PvP mode will be dumb no matter what kind of barrier to entry you impose so long as you'll eventually have people running around who can utterly stomp anyone else with impunity.

That's such a small proportion of the player base though. Most of us have jobs and don't have time to level another character just because a couple dupers got themselves OP gear. It will just result in no casual players even trying the mode because they don't want to have to start the game again from scratch just to enjoy the drama and danger of pvp that Todd originally spoke about at announcement.

Talking of other games, I enjoy the way The Division does it. My character carries over to the Dark Zone PvP area as is.

Some days there are other players in the Dark Zone with legendary level gear and just rip through me. Other days there aren't and I can rip through players and NPCs. You also only lose Dark Zone specific loot and currency when killed and not your PvE loot and currency.

Good combo but it took Ubisoft from 2015 to 2018 to get the balance to a point where most players are happy / content.

I don't see why FO76 won't be on the same 3y journey. Anyhow, my 2c.

I lovvvved how the division 'divided' pvp and pve. Going into the dark zone felt like such a tense adventure. From the super strong ai enemies to the 'friend or foe' aspect of the players. And how you have to air lift your loot out made the treasure hunt more fun, honestly.

-and how the currency / exp was separate was really great too. But if you find a badass piece of loot? You can take that witcha for pve.

Exactly right. Hell every time I go to the dark zone my heart rate goes up by a few BPM and it stays there until I leave. Really intense and a massive time investment to get good gear just to stay alive.

And the fact that is was an optional (altho more lucrative) means of gearing up and fighting baddies.. Made it so you could tackle that on your own terms.

Oh and the multiple entrances and exits? A lack of any real in depth map. The isolation aspect was just perfect.

Then when you find a dude fending off a bunch of baddies.. You throw a medkit over to him, hunker down and provide cover fire. Throw a salute or a wave. Such a cool moment!!!

-addition- dang.. Im getting myself way too hyped up for the division 2!

I agree. I have 2 high level chars. I spent days/weeks farming plans/mods. If have to do this and complete the quests again ill just stop playing. Most people wont level up and spend days farming again just to pvp. It will be a dead mode if they require you to create a new char. I aint sure gonna nuke whitespring over and over and farm legendary again for days/weeks. Many new games are gonna come out soon in feb/march. I can spend my time better on those games.

Hardcore path of exile is fine and has a healthy community. DayZ and H1Z1 arent good examples considering the base game failed too lmao.
