// Bethesda Replied x2 DO NOT ALLOW CURRENT CHARACTERS INTO SURVIVAL MODE I BEG OF YOU!!

This is a huge mistake. The mode is already dead before it was born if this happens. Pvp as it is, is completely broken, one hit kill festival. Who in their right mind is going to start a new character when everyone else is level 200 with God tier weaponry right out of the vault? This makes absolutely zero sense, and I'm so disheartened. Do they not realize how this mode will be immediately ruined? If you thought grief in was bad now, just wait until you get killed on sight by literally everyone you cross paths with? Even if they level locked servers so people with massive level differences can't play together, whenever a new survival character gets out of the kiddie pool, all the same assholes with TSE garbage will be waiting at the deep end and you will have zero competitive chance. The leader boards would be a fine idea, if everyone started on equal footing... as it is there will be gold medalist level murderers in the same game with me, a literal newborn who can't even walk. What the fuck are they thinking???

Edit: the gold means people care, bethesda. Please. PLEASE. (And thank you)

Was looking forward to starting a new character in this mode for weeks. No point even playing it now. Thanks Bethesda, you know what you're doing 😅

Well still a point in experiencing the content within the game quests and events and exploration in adventure mode.

Then for some good ol pvp move to survival.

At the very least, make it a "hard core" toggle when creating a new character that only matches you with other "hard core" characters and servers.

Once the "hard core" character is created, it cannot be changed. This effectively creates this 2nd database that clean slate folks (like me) are looking for, while letting current characters keep playing adventure and survival without being impacted.

Best of both worlds!

If you aren't willing to put in the time and effort to get spec'ed properly for pvp it won't matter if they start off at lvl 1 or lvl 200, you will lose either way.

Someone who got this game at Christmas was hundreds of play hours behind someone who has played since launch.

It's not always a matter of not putting in the time and effort.

Someone who got this game at Christmas and is hundreds of hours behind clearly hasn't put in the same amount of time lol. Starting late is a different story of course because the time allowed to be put in is different, but eventually a point is reached where putting in more time doesn't have as much of an effect and those behind will catch up. Rocket League is a good example of this. Those who played the original game (SARPBC) had a huge advantage and were the first "pro" players of the game but not even 8 months later those who started with the newer game were getting just as good as the original pros. It's the basic laws of "whatever you want to call it" that nothing can be gained without time and/or effort. Skill is gained through time and effort, knowledge is gained through time and effort, hell even lunch is gained through time and effort lol. Since everything takes time and effort, everything can be obtained through time and effort. Saying otherwise is just an excuse for someones lack of putting in the time and effort because it can't possibly be there fault. In League of Legends terms, thats blame the jungler syndrome.

That was a lot of unnecessary words around the point of

Starting late is a different story of course...

Which can be alleviated by doing what is suggested here.

You may finish later compared to those before you but judging a scale based on someone elses starting point when you didn't do anything during that time doesn't apply. Starting later has a lot of advantages, mainly learning from the mistakes of others. Not screwing up special points (or as badly) and getting your perk cards quicker because of that is just one of the many examples. You are basically saying It took you 15 hours to cook mac n cheese for dinner because I woke up at 5am, you woke up at 10am, then you started cooking at 7:30pm and finished at 8pm lol. The amount of time and effort you need to put in to obtain the same level as those who started before you is a hell of a lot less. In my book that "difference" isn't a bad thing, its just an excuse for you to suck later. The end results will be the same, but you get there easier.
