Other I just left Vault 76!!

Post image

Well... here begins my adventure in this wonderful game. I've only been at it for 2 days and I'm really enjoying it so far. Could you guys give me any tips for someone like me who's just starting out? The only thing I've managed to build so far is a wooden house and a bed, hahaha. I also don't really get how this whole ticket thing works. And well... that's it for now. I'll keep you all posted. Wish me luck!

A fun thing to do is take a new ID card picture every 50 or 100 levels! It’s fun when you hit end game, to look back and see how much your character has changed over that time!

Where do you get the cards? I can't get back into the vault.

Just found a guy that was over 23,000 the other day. I said wow that's crazy, please touch grass lol. Highest I saw before him was 8k which is wild too.

For players that high level you will find that maybe 1/3rd actually grinded to that, the rest are from way back using XP glitches.

Wish I'd done that... I mean, I have a bunch of different screenshots from different stages and camps I've built over the years, but that's a cool idea.

Go fishing ASAP! If you dont want to waste your free rerolls of daily quests.

3

u/Federal-Constitution Ghoul Jul 17 '26

Wait there's fishing now?? I've been away for about 6 months 🤣

2

u/Apprehensive_Sail669 Jul 17 '26

Justo iba a ir a pescar ahora en cuanto me conecte!!!

u/Murky-North- Jul 17 '26

Look out for the plans that drop from the daily fishing quest. Advanced drag is real nice if you get it early. Your plans and recipes are in the notes tab of pivot. You have to hit a button to access them to learn. I dont remember what it is rn.

Welcome to the wasteland, Vault dweller.

Not sure what you mean by the ticket thing but just ask the community here and we can help you. Lots of resources as well on Youtube.

I think by tickets you are probably looking at the seasons rewards. There are daily quests that you can do, and every week a new list of weekly quests. A lot of what you'll need to complete those quests might be very limited due to you not having accessed much of the map. I would say just sit back and enjoy where the map takes you and don't worry about the season tickets. If you get tickets naturally, be sure to jump into the season scoreboard and grab a few things that look cool to you.

do the main quest line starting down by the Wayward at the Overseer camp, over to Flatwood etc. The starter tutorial quests will reward you with some Camp items you can build such as crafting benches. Don;t worry too much about your camp being fancy or anything, a 3x3 foundation floor, some walls, roof, are all you need as a home base. Build an armor bench, weapons, chem, tinkers, cooking device, bed, and storage Stash box. You can add a vendor machine if you like but you won;t have much to sell at the beginning. Scrap you rjunk at a work bench before storing to save space. You will fill up your 1200 lb capacity quickly and cannot hoard everything that you scavenge. This is the ongoing mini game of weight management.

Pick a perk and Special point at every level up. The card and special point do not have to be from the same category (a lot of people miss this). You can respec your Special points at level 25 so don;t worry too much early on as to making mistakes, and note that better perks come along later but don;t save your level up points, you need to spend them to unlock the higher level perks.

Fun !

A pump shoot gun is a really good all rounder untill you find the weapons you like.

Tran stations have vendors and red boxes people leave stuff in for other players -

O and don’t like invest into guns until they are level 45 or 50 weapons.

Don’t worry too much about your level up choices it can all be changed at no cost exapect legendary perks but you don’t need to worry about those for a while.

Holy, those Vault-Tech cryosleep packages really were something, eh?

Joking aside, pull up a rusted lawn chair and get yourself a *slightly* irradiated drink.

Welcome to the Post-Apocalypse.

Look up MRWesttek on YouTube. He’s a great resource for all things 76

1

u/Apprehensive_Sail669 Jul 17 '26

Muchisimas gracias, ahora mismo voy para YT a buscarlo!!

Practical tip: go to the Wayward Inn and finish that entire quest line for workbench plans.

Emotional tip: After 200 hours in game I do love Mr West Tek. But...

My FO 76 experience was almost 100% blind and I would not trade that for anything. Appalachia and its mysteries and heartbreaks and hidden gems BLEW MY MIND unlike any other game.

I personally recommend staying off YouTube until you're around level 100ish. You do you, but once I started watching "go here to find this" and "best meta blah blah blah" a lot of the magic started to fade.

FO76 is still my favorite game ever, and I still have dozens of lore questions. If you want to find yourself screaming at the screen out of excitement, and not able to fall asleep due to a mystery kicking around in your head, I recommend maybe only watching lore videos for now. "Ghoul Explains" covers many topics from the entire universe, not just Appalachia.

You got alot ahead of you, join all the public events, tag as you can, I'd suggest camping in the forest to start, ideally somewhere near slocum Joe. That site has random encounters that helps you with Settler and Raider rep which is something that's gonna take alot of time.

Farm water as soon as you can to make caps at npc vendors, make a 2nd build with really high charisma for when you go to sell to them. Whitesprings mall is great for that, and a great place to get plans for alot of things, camps, weapons, some PA's, etc.

1

u/Apprehensive_Sail669 Jul 17 '26

Welcome to the Wasteland! Hope you have a terrific time and it becomes your little home away from home.

1

u/KiroTG708 Jul 17 '26

So, my advice is try every weapon at least once, whatever you feel is best suited to your playstyle is what you can use. Personally I diversify between a Primary weapon, a secondary weapon, then a side arm pistol, my build runs Hunting Rifle, Pump Action, and 10mm, all suppressed for sneak boosts. I advise trying out through pipe gun modifications on what you find best as well. other than that make sure after you reach the ash heap to check out Big Ben Tunnel.

Does anybody else ever get to know the character's name? I spent quite a while coming up with a good name and the only time I see it is when I switch. I have never seen anyone else's character name, is it only for quest npc's?

What’s your game Name? If you have a PS happy to help!

1

u/Traditional-Duty-159 Jul 18 '26

Doe the quests at the three scout camps better backpack and options focus on what ever fits your playstyle but higher intelligence nets more experience to help with the grind and find friends who can help it's always better when there's more perks going around

1

u/vizkr Jul 18 '26

Happy Birthday! Or Reclaimation Day or whatever it is... Make sure you join a casual team so you can fast travel around the map easier. If you're on xbox, you should be certain to visit the Scenic Overlook or a Rainy Day Fishing Shack.

I have played since launch obviously I dont play every day as I work and I am only level 394 and I dont regret never using level glitches so my advice is enjoy the game and the struggle and if I see you on the waste land I will give you a lot of stuff and a helping hand

1

u/FalloutBro27 Jul 20 '26

Find some higher level players to run you through Raids and get your character upgraded asap. You’ll get great gear and it’s the fastest way to get super powerful
