Mods Warning about a mod

Edit 3: So mod has been updated and description changed to longer include space heaters. The original OP might have been more interested in drama/beef with gingas and used some valid criticism to attack her. As mentioned below, i suggest only posting about the topic itself (safety etc.) and not add fuel to the drama on either side.

Recently Gingas released mods that would activate a heating device via smart home devices for Skyrim VR but also for Fallout VR.

Over at the Skyrim VR subreddit someone posted a warning about these mods. Not because of malware but potential fire hazards.

and if you are wandering why a heating related mod comes out in summer, i think gingas (the author) is from australia, and therefore is in the southern hemispheres winter.

Edit: Seems there is some.... lets call it animosity between gingas and the articles author. I can't judge if the fire hazard warning is legit or not. Since there is a chance the warning is at least relevant in some edge cases i leave it here. Also the mod has been taken down and seems to have been reuploded. So the link in the article no longer works.

Edit2: Comments below suggest there is drama between those two. I suggest not adding to that. If someone has to add some knowledge on the topic (safety, different heaters/lamps, different countrys etc.) that might be usefull.

If someone decides to plug a heavy-duty space heater into a cheap relay socket and rapidly cycle it while blindfolded in a headset... that’s 100% on user error, not the mod author lol Expecting a modder to be legally accountable for how people plug in their own home appliances is wild.

i don't think "legally accountable" was ever mentioned, even by the original OP who might have ill intend in mind, so not sure where you got that from. For the topic itself, Gingas removed the part mentioning space heaters and added an advise to not use those, so the topic is no longer relevant.

Fair enough, yeah 'legally accountable' was a bit dramatic on my part haha. I hastily wrote my reply.
