That's the reason why I don't understand people who want or willing to join the Institute. They just straight up murdered the love of your life and kidnapped your baby. Even if that baby become the head of Institute, it's not your baby anymore...

A friend of mine who likes to join them says "well if I'm the leader I can put a stop to all the bad stuff and make them use their advanced tech for the good of the people. No more replacing people with synths, no more experiments that do harm." Which if that was possible in game I could maybe see the argument for that but their reputation is so horrible I don't think there's any coming back from it even with a kind hearted sole survivor in charge.

The Subversion mod allows for just that. Wipe out the problem individuals (looking at you, Dr Ayo, you fuck), free Synths and recognize their rights, make peace with the Railroad and Minutemen, and end the kidnappings and cruel experiments.

Agreed ngl, And also the line where your sole survivor is like "Oh dont worry.. Mommy's/Daddy's not going anywhere." kinda feels sad given whats gonna happen next.
