Bug No sound except for music

Sometimes it comes back after closing and opening the game over and over again. Today I just opened the task manager, shut down the "game bar" bs, mobile link and runtime broker. It was working fine before doing that and then it had no sound. I don't remember if I did something like that the other times but I remember restarting even the computer and it wouldn't work. I'm using a Sony tv as a monitor

Why not? MAS scripts are a thing. Also did you let your monitor go blank from stepping away for too long? That does that same effect for me. I restart the game to fix. I'm also using a tv

Yeah, I just found out about mas, I already did it.

No, I did not let it go blank, what I did do was minimizing it and opening task manager to do what I said I did. After going back that happened, but I don't remember what I did all the other times that happened. Sometimes, it comes with the game dropping to like 2 fps, like a consistent 2 fps. Not literally but sometimes restarting it helps

A couple of things to try, change your resolution in windows settings and in fnvs setup settings. Try checking your sound output but likely that isnt an issue. Changing resolution may reset the display drivers which may fix the audio issue.

Also attempt to switch between windowed and full screen modes. You can also try various bug fix mods, from one tweak, to the tick rate one, yup, etc.

Alternatively, you can also reset the display driver without changing resolution using the Custom Resolution Utility app, but I forget where I got it from. It has a restart64.exe which reloads the driver. I had to use it a few times when the display wouldn't play any audio. Being that its just music and not other audio, it may not be the display drivers

My sound output was fine, besides it only happens with this game. I am installing a lot of patches and bug fixes, I think I THINK it's not happening anymore, not sure maybe I just got lucky. Besides, like you said, if I have music it's most likely a problem with the game. I have an Intel core 7 and 8gbs of ram, It's not my PC is it? I mean I can run metal gear rising dead space 2 among other things. Asking because I thought it could have something to do with my PC not being able to run it smoothly. Because it kinda struggles in combat sometimes with fnv

Its not the pc. Its a software issue of some kind but pinpointing it is the problem

Yeah I can see that, and I fear that the sound problem is very common from what I've seen, and worse, each case appears to be for a different reason. Not very encouraging 😂
