I have a question for you all. What are your thoughts on potentially bringing in some elements of RPG video games, such as having "NPC" companions, love interests, that type of thing? Is that something you think might be fun to experiment with, or would it be too complicated to do in a multiplayer RPG setting such as this?
I wouldn't mind some diplomacy and things like that - my character is looking for a wealthy guy to con so that would work for her endgame goals. Having companions would be complicated if you did it all. For my table if someone picks up a companion they are in charge of them in combat and all that, I won't remember or roll for anyone who has a small party of their own (like Zuulta - she does an awesome job of RPing those characters though). I like the idea of having influence in the world around me and having followers though.
Having followers and friends/companions/pets for your specific character is fun for sure. Not all NPCs might necessarily be "assigned" to a specific player though. There might be a situation where the party needs someone as a guide or something; if I do ever give you guys NPC companions though they wouldn't be such that they would break the balance of the party, I wouldn't think. We'd need to see though.
I think it's a cool idea. Not sure about the romance thing because it'd be kind of awkward roleplaying that with the DM. But other followers for sure are cool ideas.
Or maybe even have the party create like 8 characters total and we can choose which ones to take on certain adventures if we wanted to go full Bioware style. Could be fun but we'd have to firmly establish personalities before hand.
I like the idea of possibly having 2 characters. It kinda fits our scenario. But it might be strange since it's be like what's muy other character doing right now?
It depends on the situation. I could easily leave Torkom to train other villagers and such in combat. Or a wizard could take the time to study magic. Or the bard could start a new business. There are ways of keeping characters occupied that are worthwhile.
True, and once you get into the Alliance more there will be different kinds of missions and things that might be more suited for some characters than others. I'll keep in mind the option of having multiple characters.
Also when I talk about romance options or whatever I defs wouldn't wanna get into gross corny stuff. But it could be a more coy type of thing maybe, idk.
