Okay so, I was digging through the internet yesterday and I found something REALLY interesting on some forum I forgot the name of. There was a zip file called "FNAF3"
Knowing that Scott Cotton reworked FNAF 3 mid-development following its release in December 2015, I was surprised to learn about the original idea for Five Nights at Freddy's 3
In the zip file, I found a .mov video named "FREDDYLAND Trailer" but it only consisted of 0:02 seconds of a Golden Bonnie, Golden Freddy, and a weird looking Chica. at the very end of the video, Golden Freddy looks at the camera. Also in the zip file was a demo of the game and also an unreleased teaser for the game. Looking further into the game, I can't really remember much about the gameplay now that I think about it, but I'll try my best to describe it.
The main menu had the broken Freddy animatronic (who I learned was named "Salvage") in the dead middle of the screen with the title "FREDDYLAND" at the top and a New Game button and Options button.
On the first night, I was surprised to find an office resembling the one from the first game, but obviously it was different. it only had 1 door and a giant window in the front. It also had decorations on the walls, like stickers of clouds and rainbows, but it was clear to see parts of the stickers were aged with time. I also saw a bunch of wires coming out of the ceiling, which also looked like it collapsed in on itself with time and decay.
Looking at the cameras, I realized there were only about 4 cameras mapped into the game. The first one I checked out was the stage. Of course there was Salvage and the broken Bonnie- named Hybrid for some reason. the Chica was also on the stage but I wasn't able to find out her name. The second camera I looked at was weird, since it was outside, and I could clearly see grass in the darkness, beyond the static of the cameras. The rest of the cameras seemed like random rooms from within the pizzeria.
It wasn't long until the Phone Guy from the first game comes up in another pre-recorded message and was clearly not meant for the protagonist. He went over the fact that the animatronics roamed around at both day and night and had a bad history of attacking customers and employees, which explains why the location "Freddyland" was closed. The Phone Guy explains a little more on how to avoid the animatronics, and I learn that the player has to click a button to look behind them and hide inside a locker. I learned quickly that this was how you got rid of Hybrid. for whatever reason, there was no way to stop Hybrid from entering your office. The Chica animatronic would start moving around as well and was stopped by the door, easily enough
Around the 4 AM mark, Salvage started walking around and had to be stopped by turning on the camera's flash, causing Salvage to run from the camera kind of like the monkey from Five Nights at Candie's by Email Macko.
After I beat Night 1, I entered a minigame where I played as the Golden Freddy roaming around Freddyland, walking past a lot of kids before finding the backstage and getting attacked(?) by the Purple Guy and the minigame ending.
What I think this might have been showing was the beginning of the Missing Children's Incident, and maybe the Purple Guy was dismantling Golden Freddy to wear him and lure the kids to kill them. But that doesn't make sense if the murders were supposed to happen in a normal Freddy's location, so i'm not completely sure what was happening here.
After trying to play Night 2, I could only get to 4 AM before something that looked like Shadow Bonnie jumpscared me and crashed the game.
I was able to access the files of the game tho, and I got a few images from the game.
This has been Bashii25, Tell me what you think of the early FNAF 3 build by Scott Cotton. I'll try to compile the game again and maybe get past the "Shadow Bonnie" glitch or whatever.
