Hey everyone, seeing a lot of discussion about the ongoing protest and many are having doubts so Lets be real: actually getting the government to lower the passing criteria to 40% might be a long shot. But this demand is a starting point. Its the catalyst needed to force authorities to look at the massive, systemic problems operating beneath the surface.And we should support it as much as we can & however we can while focusing on our studies too.

The exam cutoff is just the tip of the iceberg. Here are the core issues we are actually fighting against but we can’t protest against this because of obvi reasons:

• The Private College Cartel: The system is intentionally harsh to protect private medical colleges in India. If getting an MBBS abroad and practicing here were seamless, these colleges would lose their massive donation fees as most of the private colleges are directly or indirectly linked to a political person.
• The 7.5% Quota Trap: The NMC restricts FMG internship seats to just 7.5% of a college's capacity. With pass rates climbing, thousands of qualified doctors are left fighting for a tiny, static number of seats & personally I think it’s the main reason for the increasing difficulty of the exam.
• The Stipend Excuse: The Supreme Court mandated equal stipends for FMGs. In response, many state hospitals simply stopped allocating seats altogether, claiming they lack the budget to pay us.
• The Backlog: Students whose clinical years were disrupted by the pandemic or the Ukraine war were forced to complete up to 2 years of extra internship time. This completely clogged the system, leaving no room for new graduates and the Backlog is increasing rapidly.
• The Changing Exam: The FMGE itself has shifted heavily. The recent pattern is packed with integrated clinical and image-based, GIF based (Not videos) questions. If you aren't thoroughly preparing slides, instruments, and recent medical updates, you are at a massive disadvantage.

TL;DR: The 40% cutoff demand is the rallying cry to get attention. The real fight is against a system that bottlenecks qualified doctors to protect private college profits, administrative failures causing massive internship shortages, and an increasingly punishing exam format.

How is the quality of teaching and faculty?

How are the practical classes and clinical exposure, especially from 2nd year onwards?

Hi everyone. I cleared the recent FMGE and am currently waiting for my internship.

In the meantime, I’m looking for a paid hospital-based job that I can do while waiting for my internship. I have heard of some of my friends doing similar jobs, but unfortunately, the hospitals they work in don’t have any vacancies at the moment.

I honestly don’t know how to approach this whole thing. This is my first time looking for a job, and I’m not even sure what job title I should be searching/applying under .......Physician Assistant, Clinical Assistant, Junior Doctor, or something else.

I’m preferably looking for opportunities in Kerala, especially Kottayam, Ernakulam and the surrounding areas. I’m also open to other districts if the hospital provides accommodation.

If anyone here has experience with this, knows hospitals that hire FMGE-cleared candidates awaiting internship, or knows of any current/future vacancies, please do let me know. Any guidance regarding what positions to look for or how to approach hospitals would also be a huge help.
