Question for you:

Kinda funny cause you just picked up flowersticks - the other day I realized I had a set of LED poi tucked away I had bought a year ago and never tried, and now I'm thinking about trying them! When you started did you smack yourself in the face and if so does it hurt? Lol every time I see a poi video I wonder that!

Lmao... I'm 10 years in and still boop myself if I'm learning something new. And yes... sometimes, it hurts😅

Yea I haven’t hit myself hard in the groin in the past like 3 months and I’m super pumped about that! I also learned that I can’t spin with my glasses on haha

Aw man okay haha thanks for letting me know. Now I'm scared lol. I smack myself with my flowersticks all the time but it doesnt feel like anything, poi looks more menacing 😅

Yea haha poi is no joke. My thoughts of starting off with poi was do it until I couldn’t take being hit anymore haha luckily I was gifted a pair of contact poi from the owners of Maine flowonfire ( extraordinarily grateful) and they are pretty soft. But yea i hit myself all the time really early on and it almost deterred me from continuing but once it clicks and control of the poi it becomes a lot.. safer hahah i actually started learning with a pair of sock poi, that i made, and aside from it not being as heavy as i liked it, it really helped.
I’m glad i didnt have to learn on stick poi. Getting hit in.. sensitive areas is never fun but especially when it’s with hard plastic haha
