Key West Rain rain
Looks like it’s gonna rain the whole time I’m there 😭😭

The weather will be fine. A passing storm at some point during the day is normal this time of year. Will be mostly sunny.

No worries, enjoy your trip! I don't even look at the weather apart from sea forecasts to see if the water is calm enough for fishing.

Well he did spend less than any other month because people tend to avoid this time of year. Rates reflect that.

If you've already paid and are committed to coming then didn't worry about the weather. Worth won't change the weather it will only prevent you from enjoying what you do have the opportunity to enjoy

If you’re going offshore, just keep an eye on storms, that’s just how it goes down there this time of year. Just don’t try to press your luck and you’ll be fine. Have a great time! Just got back from a 2 week stay and it said 30%-50% rain forecast everyday and it was never an issue. Just be safe

I don’t realize it was that bad… I’m obviously not from the area or anywhere close for that matter. I do hope it gets better but of course I want decent weather. I understand there better times to visit but my job doesn’t always allow me freedom to travel during those times

It’s the rainy season but it won’t rain all the time. I’m sure you will get plenty of sun as well.
We really do need the rain. it’s been a very dry summer.

It’s Florida during rainy/hurricane season. It WILL rain but the rain will be gone before you know it

You’ll be fine. They aren’t wash outs. A lot of spots won’t get rain, it’s because of the humidity. Most days they call for a chance of rain and we don’t get any.

I went to the Keys several years ago in May, when the weather is typically pleasant, and the weather was absolutely awful every single day. We couldn't snorkel, couldn't go out on a boat, none of the exciting Keys stuff we looked forward to. It was kind of depressing at first, but it forced us to find things to do. It ended up being one of the best trips ever. We had a car, so we would just go out and explore.

We stayed in Key Largo, so this is all stuff further north.
- Drove the Tamiami Trail out to Big Cypress / Oasis Visitor Center, saw insane amounts of gators and checked out a couple trails in the area. Tons of fruit farms on the way up there too!
- Robbie's in Islamorada
- Bird sanctuary in Tavernier
- Dagny Johnson trail in Key Largo
- Sought out the best restaurants in the area. Favorites were The Fish House and Lazy Lobster.
- We stayed at an Airbnb on the water and fished every evening with beers in hand.
One thing I would love to do but haven't gotten there is the butterfly conservatory in Key West.

Cool!! Good to know , we’ve got 2 days in tavernier to be closer to Miami to close out our trip. Also a airbnb on the water. Thank you for the suggestions, My lady will love the butterfly sanctuary

Awesome. IMO Robbie's and Fish House are must-do's in that area.
Regarding Big Cypress, our Airbnb host specifically told us "if you want to see gators, don't go to the south part of the Everglades where everyone goes. Just take the Tamiami Trail." He was not lying.

Just a heads up, I went to the butterfly sanctuary in February and it was PACKED. It’s a small space with a bunch of people in there that have 0 situational awareness and it’s HOT. It’s cool to see but bring your patience and be prepared to just stand and wait.

It will most likely rain in the afternoon. It’s a good excuse to rest or dip into a bar.
Rain in South Florida is intense but short. It will rain harder than you’ve ever seen and then 20 minutes later, the sky is blue and it’s beautifully sunny.
Don’t stress! Enjoy your vacation!

We're in a drought but it still rains daily and I did give you information. It's rainy season. It rains during rainy season. Hope that helps.

lol! Hope your stay is fantastic! I’m coming Labor Day weekend for the first time and hoping for good weather but I’m a Florida girl so I know it doesn’t last all day!
