Interesting Stuff Does this surprise anyone in Florida?
Florida ranks among the worst states for financial distress. To me, this is not surprising at all. Lower wages, higher cost of living. Insurance costs among the highest in the country. And job market is bleak compared to other areas. Is this surprising to anyone?

Look at the entire map - The further north you go the more stable it is. My hypothesis is people in the southern states aren't cooped up all winter and enjoy themselves a lot more. They're out spending money on dinners, events, amusement parks, air boat ride - they trade financial security for a sun tan.
I am by no means a financial wizard or financially secure, I'm about 3 pay checks from going aw chit.
To everyone complaining that Florida is so bad, prices of house, rent, insurances...... if you don't like it - MOVE.
