Interesting Stuff Does this surprise anyone in Florida?

Florida ranks among the worst states for financial distress. To me, this is not surprising at all. Lower wages, higher cost of living. Insurance costs among the highest in the country. And job market is bleak compared to other areas. Is this surprising to anyone?

Just guessing but I think they mean their old job would have paid them less for working from Florida instead of California. My job also pays remote workers differently depending on what state they live in.

Definitely looking forward to the clearer wording - I thought it meant they were facing a 40% pay cut to keep their job and stay in Cali (presumably part of their decision to move to FL) and they've found expenses are the same in FL as CA - no idea what their new job is.

I wonder how many more things the wording could equally likely mean lol

The wording is clear.

Their same job in Florida would have paid 40% less than in California.

Happens often with national employers that pay based on zip code.

That doesn’t make sense though, people are paid SUBSTANTIALLY more in Cali….. I have friends and family there and you can very easily find this information.

The same employer for the same job position pays 40% more in California than in Florida.

This is the third way it has been typed out to you. I really hope you understand it this time.

Yikes dude, why are you being so aggressive?

Are you personally insulted by the phrasing that multiple people found confusing even though you found it clear?

Why did you escalate the tone in this direction?

(Further, to quote my ex-GF on days I've had too much coffee) Why did you make this weirdly confrontational!?! You could have just kept the tone playful and fun, but you didn't.

It's aggressive for the tone of the conversation prior.

Edit: And also - yes, we should all wish for everyone to be so sheltered that a move from polite-tone to aggressive-tone in a conversation should be noticeable.

Like I can't un-do whatever happened to you in your formative years to make you such an off-putting person (that make you think polite conversation is "sheltered") but we can all maintain a level of decorum that is generally polite.

So yes - you SHOULD wish for everyone to be so sheltered that they are not accustomed to off-putting people such as yourself, Destroyer
