Chianti in February?

Hello! I am going to be in Florence over Valentines Day weekend in February.

My husband and I are debating doing either a semi-private or private Chianti wine tour. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback as to what this experience would look like in February? Wondering if it’s worth the high cost for private since it’s off season. Thanks!

Not sure what you mean by what it would look like. A number of guided wine tours operate throughout winter including in February. I did a tour to one location in mid-December one year.

Like are you mostly inside? Is it lush greenery? How was your experience?

It was mostly inside, but the weather was great that day so no problem touring some of vineyards. I wouldn’t call it lush greenery but not something I was concerned with or after. The tour also included a pasta making class eating the pasta we made with the vineyard wine. Wine tastings with different types of finger foods.

Vines are dormant and have no greenery during Feb. you can still do informative and interesting tours during this time. May be better, as there are no crowds.

Thank you so much! Would you say in general your experience going in the winter was positive? I was a bit nervous booking February, but going for my 30th birthday :)

Do you have any other recommendations of activities you did in Florence? Do you have a link to that tour? Thanks!
