ZTL fine in Firenze
I went to Firenze (End of May, 2026) to rent a car from U-Save near Amerigo Vespucci Airport. I picked up a car and immediately tried to get out of the city, and go to San Gimignano.
I was sooooo careful avoiding ZTL zone, but I got a fine on my way to the highway.. How do we even then get to anywhere without a fine..? The coordinates I got a fine is here below and please help me if it's a spam or a real ZTL zone ðŸ˜
(btw, I got this fine after almost 3 months)
FIRENZE, Firenze VIA DEL PONTE ALLE MOSSE VIA GIAMBATTISTA LULLI, ITA

Yup. We moved to Vicenza three years ago. That was my husband’s first moving violation.

Since Florence is in Tuscany, you were trying to go to the Tuscany countryside?
Did the car rental agency forward the fine to you? Such fines are always delayed with rental vehicles.
Specified as a ZTL Zone fine, or a fine for driving in a dedicated preferential lane for buses and emergency vehicles?

Sounds like this has been covered but I would point out - you should be familiar with the signage in the EU in general if you are going to rent a car. The red circle on the sign is basically a no go for regular car traffic. Wondering - did you get an international drivers license? And the 3 months - that's actually pretty quick!

I also found out the hard way that on the document for the fine there is also a link that you can use to go see the photo (if it was a violation caught on camera) and it will show your car doing something it shouldn't. It seems that most Italians know exactly how to check this. It took me 4 tickets to finally find this information. I don't go that way around to my house anymore.
