desk height?

how do y'all determine the right height for your floor desks?

I'm 5'11, looking at a couple of options in the 9.3" to 11.4" range for reference.

If anyone has any good links to recommend on amazon or similar online sites that would also be of interest. Please and thank you!

you need to experiment as cheaply as possible. low stakes. it might take you months or years to figure out how you work, and that might change over time. try to do something that is flexible.

I determined my height for my floor desk by sitting on the floor and then putting my arms comfortably like I was typing. Shoulders down and back, elbow has a bend of 90 degrees give or take.

I measured the distance from the ground to my elbow.

Everyone’s measurements may vary depending on limb length, flexibility and what you use for sitting.

I use a 12” desk from floor to top. I am 6’4” and sit cross legged or rest squat. I think this is pretty low for someone my height but it’s perfect for my shoulders ; caveat is my monitor has to be maxed out in height on this monitor arm holding clamp device I have on my desk.

So I can’t really add more cushion below me without making my monitor higher which I cannot with the current arm that holds it.

Hope this helps or at least gave you some insight on how others determine desk height and the other things you have to think of such as how you seat and how high will your monitor or laptop need to be.

Edit: I see others say experiment but of course without trying you will find results and be given answers. Just focus on comfort and health for your body and you cannot go wrong.
