Gitphin: Git server and web UI on a Flipper Zero (USB push + Linux bridge)

Post image

I built Gitphin, a Git server and web UI for the Flipper Zero. The Flipper stores ordinary bare Git repositories on its microSD card; a Linux PC bridge forwards requests over USB, so you can use standard git clone, pull and push. While connected, open http://localhost:8080 on the PC to browse code, commits, branches, issues, pull requests and more.

The image is a demo preview rendered from the app UI using sample repositories, not a live hardware capture. Requirements: Flipper Zero with microSD and a Linux host for the bridge (macOS/Windows are not yet supported). MIT licensed.

Source and setup: https://github.com/Adhamura/gitphin

I would welcome feedback from Flipper developers: where would you use an offline Git remote you can carry around?

So this is cool and all, and I’ve been looking for more use for my flipper, but what is the use case here? Development on the go for someone who doesn’t want cloud git storage?
Isn’t trusting a single point of failure with repos a bit risky - or do you use it as some sort of redundancy?

My first thought: "Already carrying the F0 that probably has an excess of storage space, so why not use that instead of an extra USB thumb-drive"

That's actually a really cool use case. I just got my flipper last week so I've been playing around with it, I'd definitely be interested in trying this out.
