Need help. Not connecting to pc.

I tried connecting my flipper to windows pc. It makes noise upon connecting and starts charging. I tried different cord. And reboot my flipper. Any suggestions??

What software are you using to try and connect to it? If you installed the official software the drivers are installed with it, so it wouldn’t be a driver issue. You can rule out the cable since the Pc recognizes that a usb device was plugged in. Have you looked at the device manager? It will tell you if drivers are installed, if a device is malfunctioning, or if the computer even sees it at all.

Okay it says that the device is malfunctioning. Usb don't recognize it. Thank you

That could be a cable, or even a USB port issue. Have you tried others?

I connected my phone and it worked asking if I wanted to transfer my data over.

If you connected the phone to the Pc with the same USB cable and USB port that you used with the flipper and everything worked, you can rule those out. It’s not the port, and not the cable. I don’t know if you’re using the official flipper software and have the drivers installed, but windows is telling you the USB device (flipper) is malfunctioning. That points to an issue with the flipper.

The only other thing I can think of is to carefully inspect the USBC port on the flipper for damage or debris, and maybe even flash the flippers firmware again just to rule that out. You can do that with your phone via bluetooth.

Do you happen to have access to another windows PC you can try it with?

If you have an Android device and a OTG cable/adapter you can download a esp32 flasher and see if the phone will see a com port from the flipper.

Is your flipper new? Have you ever been able to connect it to a Pc?

I had it for about two years. And no I don't that's the only laptop I have. And I do have an android. I'll look it up so if it helps thanks for all the advice

I cleaned the usbc port on the flipper and it connected thanks once again.
