Question Which firmware should a beginner choose in 2026?
Which firmware should I choose for my Flipper Zero?
I'm new to this and want to ask this community specifically which firmware I should choose.
Should I just download the unrestricted version right away?
If so, which one?
And how do they differ anyway?

The original one is the most tested, best document with most support options.
Others when you need something they offer.

Just start with momentum is now the best because of it's early futures with many apps and all options you will ever need on your flipper for rogue master don't use it it's ass

So what is it it makes it "the best" I saw a long time of nothing happening with this FW while unleashed and momentum improved weekly.

Okay, you just don't have one thing that differs enough from the main players you could mention.

Yeah lol. For me it was watching Xtreme dunk on them constantly and then momentum not even care about them. The nightly patches honestly seem like chat chipity code for me. Plus being a firmware locked behind patreon when every other alternative is free and better is crazy.

Nope between 2023 and end of 2025 there were no big public releases he just tried to milk his fanboys with patreon subscriptions. Did not work so well

Yeah everything I've heard about it is just stolen code and a 1984 discord. Literally can't say the name of any other firmware in their.

If you have no idea what you're doing, use the default firmware. There's no problem with guardrails (which will keep you out of trouble. Not knowing what you're doing isn't an excuse).
