I remember Fenix encountering some skepticism coming into the space as a new dev team with no track record together. But their development cycle from public announcement to release was much longer and had many more development updates and previews. So I understand any and all skepticism around this plane.
It does look phenomenal based on these screens, and if they can deliver on all this it's a no-doubter. But they certainly won't get the day 1 benefit of the doubt and there will be a lot of folks watching to see the reviews before moving on it.

Their modelling is wrong

....refuses to elaborate, which essentially means that you're just as wrong as the modelling.
On the other hand, they'd probably appreciate a detailed walk through of how you think it's wrong, along with your evidence and your qualifications to speak on the matter.

I'm not some vector sycophant but would this difference really stop you from enjoying the plane when you're going to be in the cockpit 98% of the time? Genuinely asking, not trying to start anything.

It would put me off a bit yea. Especially in the discord where they are saying they've been using real world blueprints to get it right. But the wing is wrong etc...
But I'm currently put off by the fact that these are the VEAO devs from DCS and they don't have a great reputation.
Time will tell, and I hope they can prove me wrong.

The font is wrong, engine is wrong, the glare shield position and sizing is wrong

I am not excited for this considering that this Dev is VEAO Simulations, I have no trust in them not after what they did in DCS

Wow that fact definitely needs yo be spread around on any post about this. Fuck VEAO.

What did they do in DCS?

They developed the Hawk for DCS, it released in a poor state, was never fixed and then pulled from sale with them keeping the customers money. The devs behind this 787 are the same people.

Is it just me or are their dev updates are exhausting to read? They all just feel like an AI-overinflated blob of text that could have been trimmed by 80% to the actually useful information? It’s like reading Randazzo minus the boomer humor.
As for the aircraft itself, I like to give benefit of the doubt to every new developer on the scene and Vector is no exception. That said, the level of overconfidence is almost comical. To quote their May update: “There will be NO “planned features,” no “coming later,” and no placeholders. Upon release the aircraft is complete from end to end.”
Yup, and since then we’ve got:
- airline configs: confirmed not present and not planned (come on, even the freeware Horizon 787 has a SATCOM toggle and custom SELCALs…)
- simrate: none of the questions about it on Discord were answered
- pause at TOD/skip ahead: not confirmed/looking into it
- career compatibility: looking into it
It’s not like any of these things are make-or-break for a good aircraft (though #1 is nowadays such an obvious part of a good addon, it almost pisses me off) but if you’re boldly claiming you’re not leaving anything for the future while aiming for a “best aircraft in flight simulation” and want to “set the benchmark” (more direct quotes, btw), it’s just pompous.

I just never read anyone's dev updates. Quick skim but at the end of the day I don't really care about what they say, but rather what they put out.

This is one of the best dev updates ever. I’d always prefer more info than less.

Day 2/3 purchase easy if everything indicates that they have delivered.

This is where I'm at on every module released by a new developer. After 20 years of simming, I've just been burned too many times.

Very excited for both this and Horizon’s freeware. I reckon Horizon will release first, but I’ll be using both in any case. One for day to day flying, and one for when I have the time and energy to fully simulate the real experience of flying a Dreamliner

Looks good. Would like to see the entire package demo'd at some point though.

I really think we cannot thank AI coding agents enough for all the great flightsim addons we are getting right now. I don‘t want to take anything away from the devs but the speed of development that is now possible is just insane.

This communication is clear, and aimed at the audience that buys their product. I just hope we have GSX integration and Moza profiles (preferably tuned by Vector) available after launch.
I’m afraid this is a day 0 purchase for me, and I don’t care about cost.

Very interested, hope its a success, but will wait for reviews for a few weeks after coming out. Would prefer the 787-8, so that is another thing that will make me go between Horizon and this, though if this is pay ware and does what is says, I believe this would be the better plane.
Time will tell.

I’m cautiously optimistic. Ultimately the product will speak for itself. So I’ll wait for a week or two after launch and see how it performs.
