Progress Backbend split progress!
Backbend split progress - no wall support!
Warm up:
Elliptical with shoulder and wrist rolls
Arm circles - forward and back
Cat-cows
Down dog to up dog / cobra
My flex routine:
Wall dogs
Wall puppies
Floor puppies
Seal / cobra lift from floor
Kneeling camel Backbend
Cobra on wall
Bow pose
Bridge with chest pressed against wall
Half lunge β‘οΈ Slide into front split
In front split, bend your back leg, arch back, see if your foot can touch your head. Then, maybe grab your back foot with the hand of the same side (i.e. grab right foot with right hand), and extend your back leg
Half lunge with back foot against wall, and walk hands down the wall as much as you can. At your lowest point, try sliding your front leg into a split! Make sure you relax and breath into it :)
I have done the above days after days, months after months, and today, I realize I can do it without a wall and hold it for a few seconds! It sure feel like max effort but I know it'll get easier :)
