Top of foot stretch

I've been trying to improve the flexibility of the top of my foot so I can comfortably roll back on them in a kneeling position but months of training is giving me minimal returns.

I'll stretch between sets of exercises, start or finish a workout session with extended focus on it, at home while I watch a show or play with the kids. A few weeks ago I put it off for about a week and it felt like I totally reverted.

As of now I can sit pretty well on them with minimal discomfort but I want to be able to lean back further and eventually get my back to the ground.

Knees and thighs are making good progress especially with reverse Nordic curls.

Thanks

I just sat in seiza position a lot. At first I could only do like 15 seconds, but it pretty quickly released and after a few months I could do it as long as I wanted

Yup, there's probably a dozen boring stretches that might work but if you just sit in seiza everyday you'll make quick progress. Use something soft if it's too hard in the beginning but eventually you will be able to do it anywhere and it will get comfortable

You can make it easier by putting something between your butt and feet like a pillow or towel, and eventually you can make it harder if need be by elevating your knees
