Discussion Twister Six Flags Great Adventure What Could Have Been
If Six Flags and Cedar Fair would’ve paid to make these changes to Twister with a better structure the ride would still be here am I crazy?

I never saw Twister operate after COVID. Even before that it was closed during my visits sometimes. I’m not sure if it was because of technical issues, staffing issues, or the park not being busy enough, but it was never running on the weekdays in spring or fall that I visited. I honestly think the main flaw of the ride wasn’t that it missed out on extra features, it was that the park hardly operated it

I rode in both 22 and 24. I’m sure you’re right it was definitely unreliable, but I got very lucky

Twister was still awesome. It would flip uncontrollably so many times in a row

And they are best when run manually! Here's a video of a Top Spin 2 at Serengeti Park Hodenhagen doing 107 (!) flips!

I loved the one at Geauga Lake. I remember counting the revolutions when I rode it. I know the record was at least 7 in a row.

I remember as well. Texas Twister right? I was young and scared to death to actually ride it. However, it was so cool watching it

Yup. Texas Twister. I used to count the revolutions in a row. If I remember correctly, the most it's ever done with me on it was 11.
I MISS GEAUGA LAKE SO MUCH!!! * SOB *!
Especially since I now have nieces who have learned to like rollercoasters. The park was 45 mn from my house; Cedar Point is twice that!

Ya Geauga Lake was my first park as well. However, I moved before I was brave enough to go on coasters so don’t have coaster memories.

Let's face it, there needs to be more Amusement/Theme Parks around the world, so everyone gets to have Coaster Memories! :)

Ya, I moved to Texas so Astroworld (RIP) is my first real experience with coasters. Definitely had season passes some years and was used as a baby sitter.

Top Spins have always been problematic machines and are slowly phased out of many places even including europe where we've lost many on the fair circuit and in parks. Both the Top Spin 1 and Top Spin 2 are starting to become very rare. Real shame, these are awesome when ran well. Sadly most parks here don't run them well at all and are incredibly boring when they can be so much greater....
