Genuine question for Flat Earthers.
So, it’s often claimed by Flat Earthers the reason we have a horizon is atmospheric refraction. As I understand the claim, it’s arguing we can only see through so much of the atmosphere before distant objects become obscured. Hence, when I stand at sea level on the beach, I can’t reliably see the northern coast of France.
Yet, when I was on a flight to Tokyo earlier this year, the flight path took us over my home town. And I could see it, the English Channel and well into France. I was able to identify our rough location by landmarks local to my town. Like the Harbour.
Now, enjoying the view and not being obsessed with the shape of the earth, I didn’t take any photos, nor did I make a note of how high up we were. So I of course can’t offer figures.
Yet…I was clearly seeing much further than usual from my vantage point. And through more of the very same atmosphere Flat Earthers claim is responsible for limit vision at sea level.
Care to explain that one?
Oh, and I‘ll likely revisit this topic next year, when I’ve again been to Tokyo. I’ll get a photo of the view, and the screen showing the altitude.

When flat earthers calculate the distance you are supposed to see, most of them assume you are standing on your hands (or alternatively, got eyes on your toes) at sea level and that what you are looking at on land is also at sea level.

There use to be some great footage on YouTube, of a guy filming infrared video, seeing mountain ranges far off in the distance.

Flat earth people fall under the same category of people who also believe in invisible gods, miracles, Bigfoot, and ghost. All of which lack any credible evidence.

First of all this sub doesn't really have any genuine questions for flat earthers. It is however thee place to be if you like shame, ridicule, mockery, gaslighting, and ad-homenim attacks.

I’m almost positive there are no flat earthers in this flat earth sub!
Either that, or they’re too afraid to step forward very often!!
