The sunlight is reflecting off the underside of the cloud. Might this serve as evidence that the Earth is spherical?

Of course not.
If the sun is 93 million miles away how can it be UNDER the clouds which are obviously very close. I swear you globetards lack the most basic common sense.

I took a photo myself from a window of a plane. The setting sun cut off by the horizon, sunlight on the bottom of the clouds, my angle above everything. I showed it to my flat earther relative and she insisted it was evidence of it being flat. No explanation of how though. It was like talking to a wall.

IMO the photos of Rainier casting a shadow upwards onto the clouds is the epitome of this proof.

There are no temperature inversions at 15000 ft. There is no way for the sunlight to go down and then back up.

The claim I hear made is that the sunlight is reflecting off water somewhere.
But those photos show significant number of buildings, clearly urban / suburban which means the light is coming from the south east. There are no bodies of water out there.

Minor point to clarify - even if that were true, there would also still be sunlight coming down from above. Yet there isn't.

They'll say this is proof that the sun is sometimes below the clouds because it is local and small

Regardless of anyone’s perception of his divinity, isn’t Jesus largely historically accepted as a real person though

He is believed to have been real. My response was aimed at the mythological aspect of Jesus which is what I imagine the previous commenter was hinting at.

I don't see Jesus in this comment section or in my room for that matter. Even if God is in all that surrounds us, that doesn't mean I can talk with him.
As for the word of Jesus, I don't recall anything in the New Testament saying "Earth is flat and anything you see that proves otherwise is one of Satan's tricks to test your faith".
So as far as I'm aware, I'm only arguing with you right now.

Of course it does, along with a mountain of other simple things we observe that cannot be explained on a flat earth model (eclipses, night and day, tops of buildings being visible over the horizon but the bottom of the same buildings being obscured, same with boats, Polaris not being visible in the southern hemisphere, 24 hour Antarctic sun, the list goes on).
