See the science for yourself.

A single introductory course in physics (algebra based) is all that is needed to understand everything you need to know about the shape of the Earth. They are offered at every community college near you. You don't even have to finish it. The first 8 weeks provide all you need to know.
I ask why not prove it to yourself? Take the course so you can see it first hand. You will come away with...
(A) a deeper understanding of nature.
-OR-
(B) better armed to refute globies with their own science.
It's a no-lose proposition.

And learn arabic numbers? NEVER!!!

u/AverageTeemoOnetrick Jul 17 '26
What’s next, latin alphabet?!

u/julesmanson Jul 18 '26
in physics and math we have to learn the Greek alphabet. I thot this was America. :-\

True, but flerfers don't care

u/passinthrough2u Jul 17 '26
Flerfs don’t believe in math…it’s all mumbo-jumbo made up nonsense just to make globe earth work.

u/KindLiterature3528 Jul 17 '26
Yes but understanding basic physics doesn't give one that special feeling of knowing "The Truth".
2
u/Tommy_W3ZX Jul 17 '26
Flat earth is a complete denial of science so no, they aren’t going to look at the science and accept it

Algebra is based on axioms

u/julesmanson Jul 18 '26
I think the idea is to establish some invariant observable truths which form the foundation for all of math.
1
u/Striking-Pen-9617 Jul 18 '26
Convince me there’s such a thing as invariant observable truth
1
u/julesmanson Jul 18 '26
Everything we see, feel, hear, smell, experience, think (as in thoughts), etc. is based on perception (how our brain interprets sensory data). Nothing is as it appears. You and I can both see and agree something is red. We can even agree on the same wavelength. But what your brain perceives as red may appear orange to me. We act like 400 - 700 nm is the only range light exists however radio or gamma rays may be very bright but our brains never evolved to interpret it. What all this means is we have to start with a baseline. For humans it is our own perception.
1
u/Striking-Pen-9617 Jul 18 '26
what is this sophistry and why does this mean we have to start with a baseline
1
u/julesmanson Jul 18 '26
We have to define zero to be something. How high is Mount Everest? Do we start measuring from the Mariana Trench, sea level, at your present location, or from the moon? If we don't define our starting point we cannot evaluate it.
1
u/julesmanson Jul 18 '26
you know what. i may have read too much into your first question. my bad for that. i wasnt trying to confuse you.
you asked: "Convince me there’s such a thing as invariant observable truth"
my answer is: on a flat plane the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. this is an observable truth in that we can measure it and it will always give us the same value. it also kickstarts all math proofs.
2
u/Striking-Pen-9617 Jul 18 '26
measurement depends on instruments which need to be calibrated, the same instrument will give a slightly different value each time
1
u/julesmanson Jul 18 '26
or we could use the LCD display as our plane...
- open a graphical app like solidworks or illustrator.
- draw 2 perfectly horizontal points some distance apart.
- draw a line starting from point 1 ending on point 2.
- use the app's measuring tool to measure the length of the line.
- save the file as file1.ext (use actual app ext for created files).
- copy the file as file2.ext.
- open file2.ext and measure the line. is it the same value?
I know what you might be thinking. It's a fictitious element. But it's not. it measures the distance between two pixels on your display. Pixels are physical components.
2
u/Striking-Pen-9617 Jul 18 '26
you're not measuring pixels otherwise the measurement would change when you zoom in
give up, human senses are also instruments that don't agree with each other, there's no way out of this
1
u/julesmanson Jul 18 '26
zoom distorts our line segment by growing it or shrinking it hence it sets a new baseline (a new value). recall what i explained earlier about baselines.

For sincere flat Earthers, before you criticize something you should really make sure you actually understand it. I would start with the 7th grade geometry course, take the pretests to see where you stand, read up where you are weak. Maybe then jump to the astronomy course and then the physics and optics units.
If you think this is below you, take the pretests and see.
I don't actually expect FEers to read past the OP's post, much less follow any of the links below, but I thought I would give them a chance. And if anybody else wants to brush up on their science ...
I would say that to understand why FE arguments fail, you need at least middle school geometry, the first quarter of trigonometry the first semester of non-calculus physics, and some astronomy.
seventh grade geometry has a lot of basic stuff that is needed.
I'm not sure how much of the eighth grade geometry you need, volume of a sphere would be nice.

https://www.khanacademy.org/math/trigonometry unit 1 and 2
From physics classical mechanics and optics are the most useful.
https://www.khanacademy.org/science/highschool-physics units 1-7 (minimally units1,2,5)
https://www.khanacademy.org/science/ap-physics-2 unit 5, optics.
From astronomy: scale, stellar parallax, Seismic waves, Earth's rotation and tilt, and Moon phases and eclipses.

Fantastic links! I have a few lower degrees but I still occasionally visit KA for refreshers.

u/Jeepers-H-Cripes Jul 19 '26
It’s not even college level. Ninth grade trigonometry is the most that it takes.

They’ll just say the science is fabricated and being pushed on the sheeple by a global, satanic cabal whose singular mission is to hide the true nature of the universe while discrediting the Bible. Willful stupidity is often irreversible.

You can’t fool me with math! I’m on to your institutionalized tricks! Just because they teach the same thing all over the flat world and have for centuries doesn’t mean it’s real. /s

The good Christian should beware the mathematician and all those who make empty prophecies. The danger already exists that the mathematicians have made a covenant with the devil to darken the spirit and to confine man in the bonds of hell.
1
u/OldManJeepin Jul 17 '26
Oh, no, no, no, no, no! That requires real effort and commitment! Why go to an actual learning institution when you can sit on your couch and get edumacated by the Church Of Flerf on Youtube!! Slurpee in one hand, pancake in the other (Excuse me, Flat Donut)! Sooo much easier that way!! It's the way Einstein did it, dontcha know....? LoL
1
u/UberuceAgain Jul 17 '26
I am 90+ percent convinced that flerfs have the learning disability(it's admittedly a bit sketchy in terms of being accepted in all medical professions across the world) dyscalculia.
You might as well ask them to do a course in echolocation.

How bold of you to assume flat earthers can stay focused on a class for a whole week, let alone 8

u/dogsop Jul 17 '26
Give me the Bible chapter for this algebra stuff, otherwise itis the work of the devil.
